"You did what?" Nikki's voice rang from the other end of the line. Anna sat in her bed, a stack of pillows behind her. She was nursing her aching head.
"I told Elena Almodiel off."
"Oh, my. Anna Mendoza, you just signed your death certificate."
"I'm not scared. But, I think that this was not a good thing for Kristofer."
"Oh, yes. It's very bad news for him. However, it would even be worse for you. What happened?"
Anna shifted position. She laid flat on her bed. The ceiling looked inviting but if she could, she wanted to tear it off and have the view of the night sky instead.
"Did I do the right thing?"
"If your grandmother was alive, she'd probably scold you first before telling you that it was right. Though, if she was to handle it, it could have gone better."
Anna let out a sigh.
"Well, she's not here. And, I didn't pull a tantrum. I just said my piece."
