Anna was smiling from ear to ear. Her heart could explode with her glee. If smiling too much would cause her mouth to rip apart, she'd have no more mouth right now.
Throwing herself against her bed, Anna held her left hand high. She looked at the ring and bit on her lower lip. She was tempted to give Nikki a call. But, a tiny part of her wanted to keep it to herself for now.
Was she selfish to be so happy despite her grandmother's death only a few days ago? Why does she feel like it is a sin?
"Oh, mama." Anna murmured. "I wish you could see this. I wish you were here with me."
Tears started to brim from her eyes. It was a mix of both happiness and sadness. There was a line in-between the two emotions. She was sad that her grandmother could no longer be there for her. But she was too happy that what she and Kristofer have was more than just a plain contract.
