Anna wanted to protest.
Coming back to her apartment two days after burying her grandmother, the invitation for the engagement party was handed to her by Karl, the one in charge of the front desk.
She wanted to throw it away and pretend she never received it. However, for Kristofer's sake, she was willing to cooperate.
Just this once, she's willing to compromise. After all, her grandmother wouldn't want her to spend her days sulking.
Anna held the invitation in her hand. She held onto it despite the desire to toss it in the trash. It had an elegant appeal to it with its golden markings on all sides and the script font.
She was busily admiring it when seeing another basket of flowers on her door took her by surprise. Crouching, she picked it up, immediately noticing the note that came with it.
Anna would have wanted to stay home. She was planning to stay for a week. Her heart was far from wanting to come back.
