Splash!
Cold water seeped through his skin. With some of it peeled off, his injuries stung when the icy water ran down through his face and down to his shoulders.
The man shivered, his eyes frantically looking around.
He tried to move his hands but found that he was bound to a chair in the middle of what looked like an abandoned building.
Unfinished walls and the bare walls exposed the world outside. The sun was about to set, giving the skies a pinkish glow and his surroundings dark.
He couldn't be certain if this was a trick or if he was being punished for failing at his task.
Another man holding the bucket caught the man's gaze.
He was not familiar with him.
"Who are you?"
"I don't think he's the one that you should be asking." A woman's voice came through and caught his attention.
The woman was in her mid forties. Pearl earrings dangled from her ears and a golden necklace matched it perfectly.
