I stared at him for the longest time, blinking only once or twice before I threw my head back and laughed; I convulsed into laughter at the nonsense he spilled from his mouth. His eyebrows knitted together, frowning at me as laughs fell from my lips in waves, before a perplexed look formed on his sculpted face.
As my erratic laugh died down, I took in a few breaths before asking, "So what? You're Toothless?" I snickered, placing a hand on my mouth to stifle another round of laughs.
Confusion washed over his face, "I have teeth." He muttered.
"Oh! Oh my God, you don't know Toothless? The greatest dragon of all?" I asked him incredulously.
"The greatest dragon of all was my father." He told me sternly, as if it was something he truly believed.
I scoffed, "Ok stop!" I shook my head at him, "I shouldn't even find this entertaining, you need help! There isn't a world of magical creatures!" I snapped. This wasn't a storybook, this was life. You live, you work hard, get hurt here and there, then die, there wasn't anything mythological or beautiful about it.
"Then, how do you explain the fire?" He challenged.
"That…" I found myself being speechless, for perhaps the first time in life, "Listen, Toothless. I need to get back to my life. My company needs me!" I stressed the words.
My disappearance from the gala would definitely hit the news by now, making it a complete disaster. My body already felt exhausted at the mere thought of explaining it to the media. My father would be no help, of course. He had his own dirt to hide and bribe everyone to be on his side.
"I don't think it is a good idea to leave!" He said.
"Excuse me, you can't hold me prisoner here!" I exclaimed.
"I can, and I will." He told me, a dominating tone that left no room for argument, but I won't let him walk all over me.
I gritted my teeth, taking slow steps towards him, standing close enough to feel his minty breath on my face. He didn't move back, nor break the contact of our eyes, but his body stiffened, perhaps to hold back some bit of self-control. I took a deep breath before I spoke, "Don't even think for a second I will bend to your will, buddy! I refuse to be kept here because of the stupid nonsense you speak of." I watched as his jaw tightened and glare at me, only letting the intensity of his eyes grow, "Get a grip of the real world, because if you don't you will be trampled and fu*ked over again and again, until you're nothing more than a piece of dirt that people will walk over."
"Watch your tongue, human!" He warned, causing me to roll my eyes.
"Human? Oh, and let me guess your kind are some stupid, priceless creatures from storybooks!" I smirked.
His eyes flared with anger, letting the emerald glints dominate the whole iris. I frowned at how mysteriously his eyes changed colour, "How are you eyes-?"
I didn't even get to finish the question, as I was suddenly pushed against the wall. I gasped as my back hit against the cold wall, causing me arch in reflex at the pain that shot through. My chest immediately pressed against his, I bit my lip as sudden electric sparks ignited my whole body, sending an unbelievable sensation straight to my core.
My eyes opened, I didn't even realise I had closed them. I expected to meet his eyes, but I was instead met with the opposite wall. His lips leaned in close to my ear, I could feel his hot breath fanning against my cheek, "Okay princess, let's get one thing clear. You can insult me all you want, but don't even think for a second I'll let you insult my people. You're a little human in the realm of dragons. They will tear you apart with one single word I give them," His lips touched my ears as he spoke, sending delightful shivers to run down my body, "But I won't, because I would never let my people spill blood, unless it's to protect themselves."
I gulped, shaking under the dominating tone he spoke with, anger built in my veins as well as fear. I could feel both emotions pricking at each other, a battle of their own as they tried to ignite the fire within my depths.
"You're burning up.." He murmured as the heat of my body rose threateningly, but the invisible flames that caressed my body did him no harm. He didn't sweat, or pull away at the rising heat, "You must learn to control."
"I will not let you control me." I finally found my voice and spoke through my gritted teeth.
"I'm not trying to control you. Simply, advising you," He spoke, pushing his face against mine and breathed in softly. I frowned, wondering what he was doing, but I didn't ask for the anger dominated through, powering the sparks into a roaring fire.
"Move.." I said, while I hated the overpowering words he spoke, I didn't want to cause anymore harm. Whatever was inside me -the fire- had caused enough damage. I did not wish to add another victim to the list.
"Control it!" He demanded.
"I said, move!" I shouted, feeling my face flush as the heat continued to rise, from both the simplicity of his touch and my anger.
"Not until you control those bloody flames!" He grunted.
"Get off me!" I shouted, struggling to break free from his hold on me. I gasped, as his hands travelled from my shoulders to my wrists before holding them above my head, pinning them against the wall; his touches and moves making me foolishly forget my own name. I was overpowered from his touches and the sparks he brought, along with the raging fire. The sensations running through me, I was both hating it, and loving it.
He buried his head into my neck, inhaling deeply, before softly grazing his lips, then teeth along the soft flesh, my heart raced and my body ttrmbeld as the pleasurable shivers were sent down my body, and I did everything to hold back each of them, but the sparks that spread more intensely made it purely impossible.
"Control the flames, human!" He snapped, holding my hands in place, then wrapped his fingers around mine, pushing them harder against the wall as I tried to struggle.
"No!" I snapped back, causing the fire to rise to the surface. I gasped, closing my eyes shut, afraid to hear the screams of terror from him. I did not want to be a monster before anyone's eyes. I did not want these flames consuming another life, only for me to regret it.
But hearing only the steady breathing of his, I opened my eyes slowly, only to watch the man I dreamed of, watching me with a frown. His eyes, pure and raw..untouched. Each colour precious, ready to take me away from the crackling flames that surrounded us.
Shouts and thumping came from the other side of the door, but both of us seemed to shut it out, trying to reach into each other's souls, while stubbornly holding our shields in place; I would try to break through to him, while not daring to let him slip into my mind.
His eyes were one of a strange oceanic wilderness, but from his touches held a passion so gentle, but strong too. His eyes too, flared with a flame..but seemed much fierce than mine ...much more fierce...
The sparks that came from him stayed separated at first, but soon united with the sparks belonging to my raging fire. While the room burned with the strong flames, I simply stared at him, his eyes becoming a place of sanctuary for me to forget everything.. every flame... every pain.
I couldn't fight the thoughts that ran through me at the feeling of his body pressed against mine, making me foolishly ignore the fire that surrounded us... surrounded him. The flames had done him no harm, they caressed his skin, like they caressed mine.
His eyes held a spell, a spell trying to awake something inside me, or perhaps to reach into my soul. This man came from my dreams, but now stood before me, already trying to capture every one of my secrets..but why?
As the door burst open, Tristan immediately ripped away from me, oddly making me feel cold and alone. Truly alone, like he had taken away half of me.
With shaky unsteady breaths, I watched him...I simply stared at the man before me, sculpted so perfectly from God.
Emotions I thought I had learnt to control or no longer felt, wrapped around me, almost choking me..fear, confusion..and a little hurt. Each emotion tormented me, stabbing my sides as I gazed at this man...Tristan, as he spoke to the men that burst through the door.
From the deep confusion that was starting to eat me alive, tightening my chest with each thought or question that ran through my mind, I did not comprehend what they were saying to one another.
From hearing the crackling of the fire slowly fade into the wind, I knew the fire that somehow came within me had died down from its raging glory.
"I told you, she possesses the element of fire." His voice finally reached my ears as I shut away all emotions.
"Possesses?" I questioned, out loud. My mind had turned in a hazy storm of confusion and questions. I didn't know if I spoke them out loud, or not.
Tristan turned to me again, letting his seafoam eyes of oceanic wilderness gaze deeply into mine, "Yes." He said so simply.
So simply, it struck a whip of pain to land across my chest, "Yes?!" I asked, gritting my teeth, "That's it?! Yes? You rip me away from my company! My life! And all you got to say is a simple 'yes'?!" I snapped, glaring at him.
I balled my hands into fists, digging my nails into my palms.
His eyes suddenly snapped down to them, before looking up at me once again, "I never ripped you away from your life. What was I supposed to do? Leave you there after you fainted from exhaustion?!" He asked, letting his voice raise above many decibels.
"What are you?" I questioned, raising my own voice above his, "How did you find me?"
"I already told you, who I am." He mutters, turning back to the men, "Go watch the flightless ones." He ordered them. He held authority and some high power that made the men set into action from his mere words. His words reigned above others, this I knew as the men didn't say word against his wishes.
"How did you find me?" I asked again, once the other men had left.
"Jisoo," He sighed after he spoke my name. It was the first I actually witnessed him saying my name outside of the dream.
My eyes widened, "I don't recall telling you my name."
I narrowed my eyes at him as he began to talk, "The humans love you; adore you, you're on every magazine, every newspaper. I was able to give the face a name." He shrugged.
"You say humans, as if you're not one of us." I stated, frowning as he glared at me.
"Of course not!" He snapped, "You greedy beings are the things I resent the most." He said, as if once again I had offended him in some way.
I shook my head, "Ok, Toothless, it's been great. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've a life to get back to." Pushing myself off the wall, I headed towards the door, only to have his hand wrap around my wrist, pulling me back to his chest.
I gasped at the sudden rush of sparks that flew through me, from him...a pleasurable desire. But I'll be damned, if I ever accepted them. I gritted my teeth, trying to pull away from his strong hold, yet it strangely felt somewhat passionate.
"You don't belong there anymore." He insisted, trying to keep me in his arms.
"I decide where I belong. Let me go, Tristan!" I shouted. As his name flew from my lips, he stiffened, holding me in place, giving me no space to move or struggle.
I frowned, wondering why he suddenly reacted in such a way.
While, until now, I had strangely -and teasingly- called him Toothless, his name sounded right and beautiful on my tongue, wanting me to utter it again and again, but giving into that would mean accepting his words..accepting him. For all I know, he could be Ermolai Ivanov, the Russian hitman, hired by Jackson.
For the first time, in a very long time, I felt utterly lost; I didn't know what decision to make. But up until now, I had always put Sooyaa's Desires before everything...before myself, and I wasn't going to change that any time now.
A few moments passed, and all I could hear was his deep steady breaths. I slowly turned my head towards him, I was immediately met with seafoam eyes..sharp, bright, raw and pure...an oceanic wilderness that called onto me.
"That world won't accept you." My eyes snapped down to his desirable lips as he spoke each word. The way they moved..they way they allowed to speak the words, it entranced me in a spell, trying to pull my lips onto them...making my lips struggle into a pout as it begged for them to kiss me... senseless.
"I'll just have to make them accept me, then!" I said, daringly, "While you live in fantasy worlds, I'll live in the real world, running my company. Ok, Toothless?" I smirked.
"You know my name, why do you insist on calling me that?" He frowned. The way his eyebrows knitted together, it may have seemed like he was glaring, but from the softness of the seafoam colour, I knew he wasn't.. at least not anymore.
I shrugged in response, "I need to get back to my company." I stated, firmly before freeing myself from his arms, after he had loosened the grip.
My feet let me walk out the door, and this time I wasn't pulled back. But a part of me hoped he would, so I could feel the rushing of the sparks that caressed my skin ..a fact that slightly worried me, it only meant I had already accepted somewhat of the pleasure he had given me.
This man was supposed to stay in my dreams, not come to life and insist on the existence of mythological creatures.
The strange sightings I had witnessed suddenly drew to mind..the stars and the fire both portrayed the same creature ..a dragon. Confusion continued to stir into a tornado in my head, the more I thought.
So lost within my thoughts, I didn't realise where I was going, I was currently standing in the middle of a small hallway, I could hear voices coming from the other end, going backwards would mean going back to the room where I woke-up.. where Tristan stood.
I sighed, trying to follow the voices that came from the other side of the hallway. My feet moved, following after the voices picked up by my ears.
I was met with a marble staircase, white sparkling stairs that led down. Climbing down them caused the voices to become hushed; the sound of my feet had quietened them. Reaching the bottom, I saw two figures coming through a doorway.
I frowned, watching them exchange looks, before glancing up as if silently waiting for someone to come down.
"Still believe we were hired to kidnap you?" One asked, snickering as the other nudged him.
I narrowed my eyes at him, soft light blonde hair sat freely on his head. Their familiar faces hit me, "You were in the room when I woke-up." I stated.
"Yeah, we were. And when you shot fire." The man that stood to the right, spoke directly towards me for the first time. Light brown hair sat there, styled softly on his head.
"I'm Austin. And this is my good old sidekick Alec." The blonde smirked, earning a glare from the one he named Alec.
"That's great." I murmured, not really caring as I walked towards the large front doors that led outside.
"Where are you going?" One of them asked, I didn't know which of them, and I didn't bother to turn around to see who it was.
"I'm leaving." Was all I responded, as I opened the doors and stepped out, hoping to find familiar streets, but I was met with thick dark forests covering the large house.
