Chapter 33 - Rat-Headed Tribe

"Another E-Grade Food Treasure Chest!"

Joseph threw the Rye Bread that came out of the treasure chest onto the trading platform. He stood on the spot with a shovel in his hands and sighed helplessly.

In order to create the Poison Decomposer, Joseph had transformed into a crazy digger. He would never let go of the surrounding treasure chests that were prompted by the system. However, he did not even see the shadow of the equipment blueprints, let alone crystals and metals.

"Meow!"

Pistachio yawned and looked at him in boredom. It had been a long time since it had a delicious barbecue, and it felt that it was about to starve to death.

"Alright, just bear with it for a little longer. If we still cant't find it, then we'll call it a day and rest!"

Joseph picked up the shovel and walked forward in large strides. He had changed the torch in his hand many times, and the sky was already getting brighter.

However, in order to build the Poison Decomposer as soon as possible, Joseph naturally had to seize time.

Placing the pistachio on his shoulder, the man and the beast began to explore again.

Heavy footsteps echoed in the surroundings.

Joseph stroked Pistachio's fur and quickened his pace.

Although his goal was the crystal and metal, Joseph had no reason to give up on the treasure chest that was prompted by the system along the way.

Hehe, why would he let these resources that could be picked up for free benefit benefit others?

Joseph did not lack food. It could even be said that he was very rich.

However, it did not mean that Joseph could be so arrogant to the point where he could ignore the treasure chest.

Small things add up. How could having more resources be a bad thing?

Of course, the more the sesources and food, the better.

Especially since Joseph was planning to upgrade the Cabin In The Forest and the Poison Decomposer recently. Both of them required a lot of supplies.

Although he could accumulate them by digging, he could easily obtain them through trading, so why bother?

Thus, as long as it was a treasure chest that was prompted by the system, Joseph would dig one. After all, every time he dug a treasure chest, there would be one less treasure chest, right?

Soon, Joseph dug as he moved forward. He arrived at an area that was surrounded by tunnels. Each tunnel was more than a meter tall. He estimated that if he wanted to enter, he would have to bend down and move forward.

"Have I come to the dwarf kingdom?"

Joseph laughed softly. It was not that Joseph was exaggerating, but the height of the tunnels around him was so short that even a 1.5-meter-tall child would not be able to walk through them with a straight back.

"Pistachio, it looks like it's time for you to work hard!"

Joseph stood in front of a tunnel and patted Pistachio lightly on his body. He pointed at the tunnel in front of him and ordered.

"Meow!"

Pistachio snorted softly, and with a few jumps, it disappeared in front of Joseph.

Not long after, Postachio jumped on his shoulder again and cried out softly.

This made Joseph instantly understand that there was no danger in the tunnel.

Thus, Joseph stretched his muscles and bent down to walk into the tunnel.

The first thing he felt when he entered the tunnel was that it was narrow. Whether it was the height or the width, Joseph found it very difficult to move forward.

He walked forward step by step. Just as Joseph was about to give up and return, he suddenly saw a small tribe at the end of the tunnel...

A small tribe!

Joseph, who was holding Pistachio in his arms, quickly lay down on the ground and observed it for a long time. Only then did Joseph confirm that this was not a place where the survivors gathered.

This was because the environment of this tribe was very unique.

The houses were buried deep underground, and only a broken wooden door was exposed on the ground. Looking at the height of the wooden door and the height of the tunnel, it was clear that the people of this tribe were a group of short people.

Joseph looked at the buildings that looked more like dirt and the strange statue in the center of the tribe that had a pot full of oil.

Everything looked just like what those primitive tribes on Earth had.

There was no trace of a high-level civilization.

[System prompt: a small-scale rat-headed tribe has been discovered.]

[A small-scale tribe with ten rat-headed men is a big threat to the host. It is not recommended to have a direct conflict with them.]

[Race: Rat-Headed Men]

[Living area: remote areas in the underground world where the danger is less.]

[Attack Method: use simple weapons and cooperate with the Rat-Headed Men priests to launch a group attack.]

[Danger Level: low+]

[Remarks: This is a group of fellows who like to live in groups. They have the IQ of a teenager and can make simple tools. Their lifestyle is very primitive. Although their individual strength is lower, when they gather together, even Highly Poisonous Lizards are not willing to easily clash with them. ]

Soon, the system gave Joseph the answer. The prompt from the system allowed Joseph to confirm his guess.

Joseph had guessed that the strange tribe in front of him was not the place where the survivors gathered, but the Rat-Headed Tribe that had never appeared before.

"This is a little troublesome!"

Joseph frowned and looked at the tribe that was blocking his path of exploration. If he did not pass through the Rat-Headed Tribe, then he would have to find a new direction. All his previous efforts would had been in vain.

At that moment, Joseph was in a bad mood. He could not help but curse God again. Sure enough, all his good luck had been stolen.

At the same time, Joseph also felt a struggle.

He did not know whether he was lucky or unlucky.

Fortunately, he did not encounter the Rat-Headed Men in the beginning.

Unfortunately, these damn Rat-Headed Men actually built the tribe on the path he had to pass.

This was the first time Joseph had encountered a Humanoid Monster in the underground world.

Through the weak fire of the Rat-Headed Tribe, he saw a Rat-Headed Man wrapped in animal skin praying devoutly under the statue.

Its appearance completely made Joseph give up on the idea of communicating. It was about 1.2 meters tall and covered in black-gray fur.

Its entire body was very similar to that of a human, but its head still looked like a rat's. Its hands had sharp nails, and it did not look easy to provoke.

What Rat-Headed Men? They were basically mice that were walking upright!

"Should I have a try?"

Joseph picked up the crossbow and aimed directly at the vital parts of the Rat-Headed Man, but he was deep in thought.

Although this was a Rat-Headed Tribe, it was only a small tribe with ten Rat-Headed Men.

If Joseph did not have the blueprint for the Poison Decomposer, he might have chosen to turn around and leave.

However, Joseph, who was eager to increase the power of his crossbow through the use of Poisonous Potions, did not want to leave just like that.

With his equipment and magic, it would not be difficult for him to destroy this Rat-Headed Tribe as long as he had a good plan.

With the help of Pistachio, as long as he did not charge forward, there was a high chance that he could kill all ten Rat-Headed Men here.

Besides, even if he did not want to continue exploring, Joseph would have to fight them sooner or later.

Due to the fact that these rat-headed men were not very far from his base.

When they went out to hunt, it was very likely that they would find his base.

Instead of having his own turf as the battlefied, he would rather take this opportunity to end them once and for all!
