Spy robot flies were buzzing and seeking us. It was the first time that I saw them. I hated naughty flies and the TECO Company made their robots to spy and record everything! I disliked that entirely! They have been prying in people's lives in this order!
We crossed the doorway and I saw a great mansion, which was wholly different than the modern buildings in the city. The Cadickus department was more like a small castle with a great courtyard surrounded by trees and fountains.
Moreover, like their badge, there were many olive trees that cropped beautifully in the shapes of animals and unknown things. An eagle sculpture was in the middle of the fountain and small falcons were around it.
Enammer halted, looked at the guard, and passed him a card. The man peeked at me but I lowered my head. It was strange for anyone to see a shadow Aligner in such a situation.
He gave back the card and I grasped a tinge of crooked objection at the corner of his lips. I could guess why he showed such a reaction! These two were the youngest Cadickus and certainly, this court of Las Vita barely could accept them! I could smell disagreement between them but I couldn't call it discord!
The fay boy drove us to the personal garage and I was bewildered that what I was doing there! The siblings weren't bad people and also Ai sent them with me. Although, Ai didn't like me and I had no idea what was the reason.
Patrise got out of the car and was waiting for the shocked girl who was darting glances at her! I found myself as her voice jostle to my mind and kicked me to follow her.
"Enammer, please shut the cameras down from now until we reached my room. I hate they question me for bringing a shadow Aligner to my personal residence!" Patrise declared seriously and I realized how she was disgusted to dangle with the folks in the main Cadickus court.
"You don't worry about that." Her brother said while his head was down on a medium-sized device that could be a military tablet! Wasn't it illegal? No one ever could have this without a license even a Cadickus. Roby had one already! It was saying that this fay is a hacker!
She ascended the emergency stairs and we followed her. It was supposed to say that we wouldn't pass through the main hall where lots of Cadickus could see us. I saw that the spy camera flies were hanging still in the air and obviously, it was what Enammer had done to them.
I felt the warm throbs of ascending the stairs in my legs and chest. Her chamber was on the third floor and I was begging for an elevator, inwardly. My situation wasn't that well yet. The string was healing my wounds and was painful itself. As we arrived at our destination, I heaved a strong breath out, listening to my own heartthrobs.
She opened a door and we entered the residency part of the mansion where they used to stay during their free time. I didn't expect them to stay in hotels while being on their mission!
The beauty of that interior was breathtaking! Vases were filled with white and red roses, sitting on the polished walnut wooden round tables. The walls were painted with an artistic type of flower textures. The carves of branches on the wall were amazingly elegant, showing Philomels that were singing on branches near each flower and colored in Dijon shade of gold color that well suited with other colors in the corridor.
All the ceiling was veiled in miniature paintings that were used to narrate stories. I knew some of them were about the gods fight with Lashuka but some others were not. They could be about Cadickus archaism. At the same time, my eyes lifted on the one that was about how Lashuka was born!
I felt a cold soulless dark within me. It was screeching from the deepest part of me then the scenery in front of my vision went hazy. I could understand that near those royal viridian silk curtains before the pillars I stumbled forward that two strong hands stopped me from spreading on the ground.
I saw the shaky image of Enammer who took hold of me between his arms. Fays smelled good hopefully because my nose was almost under his armpit. He adjusted me then picked me up.
"What happened to her?"
"I don't know, she was fine, gazing at the ceiling, she fainted," Enammer explained to his sister. But it wasn't a simple passing out of the normal state. I could hear their voices, even louder; even the sound of their footsteps and the noises out of that place like the whole city was chippering in my head.
As the all voices lowered after a huge explosion, I heard another voice. A male one.
"Tania, do you remember me?"
I looked around but it was the mute Enammer's panic blurry image and the moving paintings that stretched with the ceiling. The sound was coming from there. Lashuka, god of darkness and underworld was talking to me, his eyes fixed on me and his lips were moving.
"Come on, brother let her rest on my bed and guard the door."
As the painting went outside of my sight the flaring feeling in my heart decreased down. The fay boy let me be on the bed and walked to his sister.
"What's wrong with her, brother?"
I saw how he was peering at me. He looked frightened and a tinge of pity landed on his face.
"Lashuka, he or one of his servants had done something to this girl! I sensed him here, Patrise!"
"I am fine." I chimed in and it was a mere lie! After what he said, I wasn't sure that my brain could get back in a stable case!
I pulled myself up to lean. The stink of dried blood on my clothes was pestering me.
"Alright, take a shower then tell us everything." Patrise studied my face, and then turned to her brother, "Enam, you bring back the Cameras to their works and watch outside. Keep in mind that there is no Aligner in this department."
He nodded and handed a mask to his sister! A mask?
Wasn't it my mask? That became even freakier! Ai emphasized that no one should ever see my face but now two Cadickus knew it! Enammer was staring at me the whole time and didn't get his eyes off of me! That was for the mask removal! Now, my identity was on the line.
