Chapter 8 - Earthquake (3): farmhouse- Forest

One of those senses that makes the tip of your fingers numb and frizzy then you hide it under your sleeves to make sure they won't reveal your dimness.

The mud on the forest input attached to my shoes made it hard to take steps forward! Chase walked further, looking around carefully. Birds sang and the gleams of light glinted out from the pores space of branches and leaves.

"I heard there is an old shrine around here, and a frame Immortal gate near the crag. Here is under their rule, did you know that?" he picked a piece of branch and removed the extras. A stick came out of it, and well enough to help him walk and clean the mud.

"How come? Are you about to get there?"

"Why not? You know I haven't seen around here before," he stopped walking his sights on deeps and a bridle path.

"We cannot go farther." I approached him.

"Can you hear that?" he gazed at me blankly, his finger pointing to the left side.

"I hear nothing, but noisy birds," The birds were singing nice, but till the voice was low not peculiarly much loud that you feel they were about to peck on your scalp to eat up your brain. My Nan used to say when the birds screech something unpleasant was on the way so people must gather by the fire until the next rise and don't go under roofs.

But why? Because a demonic occur might happen if they don't follow the immortal warning! Who would believe those things? An accident is an accident! Natural bales were not related to Dark Immortals!

"Water, this way". Chace slipped to the left before I tell him to wait, and almost was running. I took long steps to find him, but my shoes were lost on the muddy earth. Like it was swallowing me.

I didn't notice the thin crooked branch that laid under mud and my left feet stuck to it. So crafty, it was! I could relate it to immortals because it was their territory. Although I wasn't sure; no one said that they own the forest! I fell off to the death pit of the fetid water in my whole body! The earth was unpleasant and the pain twisted over my bones. I clenched my jaw, my heartbeats raced like a drum, which just played a Heavy Metal song.

I thought it could not be worse than this, but when I saw the sharp stone only in three inches distance of my head, it gave me goosebumps. Yes, it could be worse. I tried to get up and sat on my knees, peering pitifully at myself.

"Tania you are all thumbs and a pure idiot," I groaned and disgusted myself. I rolled my eyes to scan around. But the chase wasn't there anymore. I couldn't believe he left me there. I got up and walked through the narrow road. Awfully, looked terrible. Everyone who could see would realize that I'm a naïf urban girl, who can't even walk straight on my feet. I looked around, "Chase..." I cried out with rage more like screaming. I was free to show exasperation when no one could see men! I wasn't sure, surely eyes were watching and ears could listen.

I rubbed my hand through my pink t-shirt, it was not that color anymore, when I learned about the pig print on it, "you like mud, huh? So now there is no difference between the two of us." It was a birthday gift from my niece Ella and I just destroyed it.

I brought out my cellphone from my pocket but it seemed someone had pooped on my luck currently! The bars had gone. It was one of those days that karma intended to harass me to the bone. What an unfair game, it had started. I was close to going out of control after all had happened to me, before and then! It was not about to get lost in the forest. "Lay off mee...I'm sick of this," I yelled maybe destiny can hear! I am nuts I know.

I received no response; however, the wind kicked me on the back and pushed me to move. Everything hand in glove with an unspoken agreement against me! I had to settle down with my new feature anyways. A huge smudge illustrated over my Jeans and t-shirt, amusing humiliate, fashioned a new creature.

I passed between some bushes and found another road, some leaves glued to mud on me. There was a small sculpture of a Crane with a long tail at the beginning. As I know, Cranes don't have long tails! A few moments later, the wind dried the mud at the end of my hair. Actually, I looked more like a moving sculpture when I crept in.

Unexpectedly and strangely, the road was cobbled. I eagerly smiled. It proved to me that I was close to the shrine where Chase had told me. I kept striding until my breathing process began to break and I had no more strength to go further and I was very thirsty.

I bent; the stink of my body itched my nose again. I sat on a stone beside a tree, but still not entirely rested when I heard a mush sound. Before that, I never thought about wild animals, snakes, and... I stood stiff on my feet and began running. Completely forgot that I'm thirsty or anything else. I turned to look back and when I shifted my head, stopped, held my breath.

One more step was equal with slumping down to the crag; rubbles rolled down and took my heart with them. I gaped and froze, watching the deep towards me when a hand pulled me back and I fell off. I crawled back and saw those light cotton summer shoes. I rolled my head up and that was an aged woman.

She reached out her hand to help me up and eagerly I grabbed them. She was smiling and her blue eyes were glowing.
