The very next day... Aayuki woke up and felt pain in her leg and arm. Then she started thinking about yesterday's event.
Aayuki: "ow, It hurts. I should have pulled grandpa Eugene towards me instead of pushing him. But then Ryan would have gotten hurt. Whatever, not like I can change anything. Should I inform people at home about my accident? Not like they'll be worried for me. I am sure they'll make up excuses that they are sorry for not being able to come and take care of me". Tch… thinking about back then, Father never had time for me, I thought maybe because I was the eldest child, I should be more independent and obedient. Even though Aunt Rosy always showed care for me, more than Alexa but whenever I needed help, she was first to back out. I thought maybe they were really busy and I should try to understand them. I was truly naïve and stupid. Not anymore, I will make sure to take those people to their graves. This is a promise to my mom and the old me. Just as I was caught up in my thoughts the doctor came in.
Doctor: Ms. Castiello, how are you feeling today? Do you feel any type of discomfort or dizziness.
Aayuki: My head hurts mildly, but the arm and leg hurt very much.
Doctor: This is very normal. Considering the way you were hit, it is natural for broken bones to give you pain. After resting for a few weeks they will start to heal. You'll not be getting better in a few days since you have broken bones.
Aayuki: Doctor when can I get discharged?
Doctor: Ms. You can't get discharged as of now as you are still under observation. In a few weeks when we see improvement in your injuries, we'll let you know.
Aayuki: Then what about being transferred to a different hospital. You see this hospital is far from my home.
Doctor: Well Ms. Castiello, I wouldn't recommend shifting hospitals in your condition. Please try to understand.
As the doctor was talking, Grandpa Eugene with his wife along with Ryan and his mother came into the ward and heard the doctor.
Grandpa Eugene: What is going on. Who is shifting hospitals?
Doctor: Good thing you're here Sir Eugene. Ms. Castiello wants to shift to a different hospital. I was explaining that it is not good for her to be moving around with her fractures.
Ryan: Aayuki, you should listen to the doctor and stay. Don't take any risks till the doctor approves.
Aayuki: "No, you got it all wrong. I realized the hospital is far away from home, my father would have trouble coming here that's why I thought that I could move to a nearby hospital." Then i made up a lie about how my family is far away from here and so on, so i wouldn't be a bother to them, cause i know if i stay her, they will come everyday. I don't want to trouble them.
Grandpa Eugene: Aayuki don't worry child. You don't need to think about them right now we will inform them. We'll take care of you. It is our responsibility to make your health be as good as new.
Before Aayuki could reject Grandpa Eugene spoke again.
Grandpa Eugene: By the way, meet my wife Amanda. She is here to specifically take care of you. Also this aunt over here is Ryan's mother Jessica.
Aayuki: Hello, sorry for the inconvenience.( She smiled while speaking like a child who thought they caused trouble and felt sorry)
Seeing Aayuki greeting them feeling guilty both ladies felt heartache for the poor soul. Even though she did them such a huge favor, she herself didn't know and thought that she had caused them trouble. Such a good child, they felt sad for her and wanted to give their love to her to make her feel wanted and loved.
Grandma Amanda: No need for formalities. We are happy to take care of you, isn't it right Jessica.
Jessica: Yes aunty your right. Aayuki, you don't need to feel worried. We are willing to take care of you. If it wasn't for the hospital rules to bring less people in the ward, both families would have brought all the members. They all wanted to come and thank you. Call me aunty from now on.
Grandma Amanda also forced Aayuki to call her grandma.
Ryan: I am sure everyone is hungry. I ordered breakfast for everyone.
Then they all ate breakfast and chatted with each other. Talking about Aayuki's mother when she was young. Aayuki got to know a lot of things about her mother as a child till adult. They also asked about her family and she told them she was living with her father, her step-mother and step-sister, but nothing more then that. She didn't want to disclose any news about them. Then almost three weeks passed and Aayuki had started to heal up. Within the next two weeks, Aayuki met with Grandpa and Grandma Miller, even father Miller came to thank Aayuki. Anyone who came to visit Aayuki instantly felt attached to her and loved her. They all thought that Aayuki was such a gentle soul. She deserved the best. Mr. Miller almost wanted to adopt her, but Aayuki rejected their offer. She said she loved her own family and is happy with them. Hearing this they all felt even more heartache her. Aayuki didn't know that they had tried to call her father many times but he never picked up. Plus it had been so many weeks, but they never saw Aayuki's family call her to know why she hasn't been home for so long, or even just random call. The next day the doctor came and checked up on the injuries before telling her she can be discharged within two to three days.
In the ward..
Aayuki: "Thank you both Grandmas, aunt Jessica, aunt Sylvia, and aunt Kylie,(Sylvia and Kylie are sisters married to the two brothers of Michaelis Family)for taking good care of me. I am very grateful to you. You should all stop coming and be troubling yourself to take care of me. I am almost healed up. I should also call home and tell my father about my injury. He must be worried about me by now". I know if i don't say that they won't stop worrying about me.
All the ladies looked at each other and had the same thought. (If that father was truly worried, he would at least once come and meet his daughter who has been in the hospital for almost two months. Even if it was just for formality. All the ladies were feeling heartache. The ones without a daughter wished they had such a loving daughter. They would have treated her as if she was an angel sent by god.)
Aayuki: She tries calling her father, but the other side was busy. She then tried calling again but no answer.
As Aayuki kept on calling but failed, all the ladies felt sad.
Aayuki: She smiled at the ladies and said "Maybe fathers at work and busy in a meeting. You all know that phone calls aren't allowed or he maybe out for a business trip. You all can go, I don't want to trouble you all". (I can only do this much, why couldn't he pick the call once, then i could send them away with a lie that he is coming. Uggggh, what should i do. I have troubled these lovely people so much.)
Everyone had lived life for longer then Aayuki and could tell she was just trying to send them away because she thought she was a burden to them. In front of them she was justifying her father. But they didn't want to expose Aayuki's lie. They truly pitied her and wanted to pour all their love to her.
Sylvia: Now you can't find a reason to send us away. Since your family is busy, we will take care of you for another few days. Okay now no talking back. Its only three more days. Be a good kid.
Just like that three days passed and Aayuki was discharged as her fracture and wounds were healed. She just had a bit of swelling on her left hand. Everything else was as good as new. Maybe it was the work of all the ladies, who took extra care of Aayuki. Giving her nutrient filled food with love. Helping her to walk and massage her leg and arms. She was all better.
