Whilst he couldn't go hunting, he could practice. He took Sadow and put him on his head, he walked stood up whilst keeping his back straightened, and walked out of the adventure guild whilst balancing Shadow on his head.
Standing in front of a tree, Arne took Shadow off his head and placed him beside him. He readied his arrow and aimed at a tree, but due to his aim being so off, the arrow hit another tree completely.
"Bow mastery -0.2/1000" Another blue box appeared and quickly faded.
Arne took another arrow and shot it. It hit a completely different tree.
"Bow mastery -0.1/1000" Another blue box appeared.
He shot his third arrow and nothing happened. Fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eight, ninth. He was out of arrows, and the blue box hadn't appeared. He walked up to the seven trees he had managed to shoot and plucked out his arrows.
He had almost been expecting another message and was almost disappointed that he didn't get one. Maybe his mind had sorted itself back out. He readied his bow and shot another arrow, this time he hit the tree he was aiming for.
"Bow mastery 0/1000"
"Quest gained."
"Quest: kill 10 slim --###%!&¤!#!#%"
"Quest changed."
"Quest: Kill 10 goblins within 7 days or die."
"Time remaining: 07:00:00:00"
"Time remaining: 06:23:59:59"
The blue box showing the time remaining got smaller and hid itself in the top right corner of his vision.
"Goblins? Death?" James began panicking at what he had heard. He pulled his hair, he couldn't kill a single goblin, yet alone ten. Was this more than a voice in his head?
"This can't be true." He said to himself and another blue box appeared in front of him.
"The system does not lie."
"What even is the system!" Arne said in an outburst, and another blue box appeared.
"The system is ERROR. The system will aid you by ERROR. The system has multiple commands, such as, status, assignment, ERROR. The system was created by ERROR and has the purpose of ███████"
Arne fell on his back in befuddlement. "Status." He said.

He was really confused. The window began fading when he uttered the words said, "What does "Race change available! mean?"
A new window appeared. "You can change your race."
Another window appeared detailing multiple different races. Some of them he hadn't heard off.
"Vampire?" He said as he read it, "are those even real?"
A new window appeared. "Vampires. Skin will go paler. Sun will weaken you, different energy sources…" It continued detailing all the changes. That window continued fading when Arne said, "Assignment."

He picked up the wolf cub which he'd left sleeping beside a tree. The system felt too real. He only had a week on himself to kill a goblin. He had never killed a goblin yet. He had never tried to kill one.
His home was a part of the stable. The first time he'd sneak in there he'd gotten screamed at by the owner for disturbing the horses. Arne had run away and cried, but he'd snook back because of the cold. Eventually, the owner would leave one of the stalls empty for Arne.
He fell down on the hay and awoke the next day to a bite. The wolf cub bit his leg, the wolf wasn't powerful enough to draw blood but it hurt. Arne tried to drag the cub of his leg but it wouldn't budge. It certainly looked a lot healthier than when he had met it.
Even when the cub bit into his leg it looked adorable. He scratched it behind the ear, suddenly it let go. As he scratched its ear Shadow put out his tongue like a dog, briefly Arne stopped scratching his ear and Shadow quickly bit into leg.
Arne now held Shadow in a way that he couldn't bite him. Instead Shadow growled loudly. After a while, Shadow quieted down and simply hanged from Arne's grip. Arne began laughing, the cub felt like a disappointed little brother. The cub began growling in response, and managed to bite into his finger. Arne howled in pain.
He picked up his ragged quiver, and his makeshift bow and headed out towards the forest with the wolf still on his finger. The cub growled the entire time. He scratched its ear and held it more carefully.
He saw a single slime rolling on the dirt floor a little bit away from them and he had an idea. He approached the slime and threw the wolf cub at it.
-----
Epic battle showdown!
The slime rolled, menacingly! In return the wolf cub growled, and the slime continued rolling, menacingly!
When the slime was close enough the wolf leaped at it, biting into the slime. Shadow winced as he had a mouth filled with disgusting slime. The slime quickly recovered and then enveloped the wolf's head, suffocating Shadow.
Shadow didn't give up so easily though, he continued biting as he was being suffocated, pressuring himself through the disgusting taste. Soon his bites began to lose their adorable ferocity, Shadow tumbled to his side.
