To say that she was shocked by Noah's reaction was an understatement. She couldn't believe the regret and self loathing in Noah's voice as he hugged her, running his palm up and down her back, repeating the words, I'm sorry, as if he was reciting an old mantra that could ease all the pain that was inflicted on her, when he had forgotten what happened in this hotel more than a year ago.
"No. I deserve to be prosecuted and hang to death with what I did. I had a feeling, that I had forgotten something about you in the past but I didn't give it much thought since you—-"
"I didn't say a word. It wasn't all your fault, Noah. I had my fair share."
Jess couldn't believe that telling Noah of their first night together would be like this.
If she had known, she should have told him earlier. She shouldn't have suffered in silence, like a stupid fool. Pete would laugh at him for sure.
