Jess thought since it was her first weekend in Mumbai, she could go out and explore the city. However, Dr. Sison gave her enough paperwork to bury herself.
She hasn't seen June since they arrived. She asked Aadir and he told her that June hasn't come home since they had arrived. She was in the lab. He knew because one of the women packed some clothes and toiletries for her.
Jess wondered what they were working on in the lab that they couldn't leave. Their house wasn't far from the laboratory, and ANAT employed a driver who brought them there and back.
There shouldn't be a reason for them to sleep in the lab, but they all did. Jess had never experienced such a sense of helplessness. By giving her files about which she has no idea what they are about, she felt that Dr. Sison was not serious at all to mentor her and was just humoring her.
