The silence was palpable, not the best silence either. I cursed again, cursing that I'd let my thoughts slip enough that I was caught off guard..or had the beast been suspecting me this entire time? The conversation Cecil had with me played in my mind over and over again, impossible..right? No, it was scarily possible the more I thought about it.
Like an idiot, it took only an hour of silence to come to the dimwitted conclusion that I was alone. I searched without caution, I traversed the caverns like the darkness hid nothing but myself. Nervously and with ample anticipation, I unsheathed the sword I'd slung across my back; uncaring of the noise it made, it was obvious I'd been heard.
[Are you sure about this?] Cecil asked me as I frowned, "Didn't we just have a conversation about this?"
