Hasegawa-san and I were both in shock to see Yui-san.
Oh, no, this isn't going to end well.
[Y]"What brings you here? Sister."
[T]"Y-Yui-san... H-how?"
[Y]"Sorry, Tanaka-san."
[H]"Of course, I came here to see Tanaka-san."
[What's with this tense atmosphere? They were friendly just a few weeks ago. Well, I can't blame them with all of the things that happened.]
[Y]"Heh, Is that so?"
[H]"How about you? Running away from home and seeking shelter from a person you barely even know."
I need to stop these two before things go south. I need to act quickly!
I let go of one of my crutches. Hopefully, this does the trick.
I loosened my grip on one of my crutches. I was starting to lose balance before completely crashing down on the floor.
*Tanaka collapsed
[H]"Tanaka-san!"
[Y]"Are you okay?!"
That hurt more than I expected, but at least I got their attention.
[T]"Y-yeah, I'm f-fine."
[H]"Are you sure?"
[Y]"You should take a rest just to be sure."
[T]"No, r-really, I'm f-fine."
Both Yui-san and Hasegawa-san carried me to the couch.
[Y]"I'll go get some water."
*Yui steps out of the living room
[H]"Nice way of stopping us."
[T]"What do you mean?." I said s-sarcastically
[She grabs my hand.]
[H]"Thanks."
[T]"For what? I didn't do anything special."
Then I heard footsteps from upstairs. It's probably Aoi.
[A]"What was that noise a while ago?"
[She sees Hasegawa-san.]
[H]"Pardon the intrusion."
[A]"Hasegawa-san! You're here."
[H]"Sorry for not notifying you."
[A]"No, it's fine."
[Y]"Here's the water. Oh, Aoi-san, sorry we woke you up."
[A]"Okay, I'm confused. What is going on here?"
[H]"I came here to talk with Tanaka-san."
[A]"It's 10:00 PM."
[H]"Well, it's a long story."
[A]"How about you, Yui-san?"
[Y]"Uh, well, I kinda knew they were meeting up. I also wanted to talk to my sister."
[A]"Is there something happening I don't know of?"
[Oh, yeah, Aoi doesn't know what's happening.]
[Y]"Sorry, Aoi-san."
[A]"Oh, so it's something personal then. Well, I won't dig any further, but if you ever feel like telling me, maybe I can help."
[H]"Thank you, Aoi-san."
[A]"I still have school tomorrow. So, I'm going back to sleep. Just try not to be loud."
[H]"Don't worry, we won't."
[A]"Okay, then goodnight."
*Aoi heads back to her room
[Y]"Oh, yeah, here's the water."
[T]"T-thanks."
[Y]"Just rest there for a while."
[H]"Now, this just feels awkward."
[Perfect, they've calmed down.]
[T]"Hasegawa-san, w-what was i-it that you w-wanted to tell m-me?"
[H]"Oh, Let me stay at your house."
[T]"Eh?!"
[Y]"Are you serious?"
[H]"Why do you think I snuck into your house?"
[T]"My h-house isn't a refugee c-center!"
[Y]"You were lecturing me about staying in another person's house, but you do it yourself."
[H]"At least I know him better than you."
And so they continued to argue till midnight. Then suddenly, the front door opens.
[M]"Oh my, what's happening?"
[T]"M-mom?!"
[I completely forgot about her. How could I even forget that? Am I getting old?]
[H]"Sorry for the intrusion."
[M]"Hiro and Aoi never mentioned you were staying over too."
[H]"I just arrived today."
[M]"This late? Why did both of you want to stay over all of a sudden."
[H]"Uhmm..."
[M]"It's all right if you don't want to talk about it, but make sure to patch things up immediately. Oh, We only have one guest room. You wouldn't mind sharing?"
[H]"That's okay. Thank you for letting me stay."
[M]"Well, you should all head back to your rooms. It's already midnight."
[H]"Yes, ma'am."
Everyone, including me, went back to bed. Before I even got the chance to do anything. Both Yui-san and Hasegawa-san started living in my house. My parents? They weren't even against it. I will have to spend my daily life with these two. How did it even end up like this?
I woke up in the morning with the sun rays beaming on my face. Didn't I close the curtains last night?
[H]"Ah, Tanaka-san, you're awake now."
[T]"Hasegawa-san? What are you doing in my room?"
[H]"I came to wake you up obviously."
[T]"I am capable of waking myself up, and don't you have school?"
[H]"Yeah, but I'm not going."
[T]"How about Yui-san? She also isn't going?"
[H]"She went."
[T]"Then what about you? Why aren't you going?"
[H]"I stayed to take care of you."
[T]"I'm no old man that needs to be taken care of."
[H]"Just quit complaining already. I even made you breakfast."
[T]"Ugh, fine."
And so my new life with the Hasegawa sisters began. I feel like this is going to be a long ride.
I grabbed my crutches and proceeded to go downstairs to the dining room. There was a faint appetizing scent. The closer I am to the dining area, the stronger it got. I'm starting to get curious about what's for breakfast. My stomach is already growling in hunger.
[H]"Looks like someone's hungry."
[T]"S-shut it."
[H]"No need to get embarrassed. I made you a lot, so don't hold back."
[T]"T-thanks."
As I glanced at the dining table, I was mesmerized. There was food everywhere. I can't even think of finishing even half of it.
[H]"So what do you think?"
[T]"There's a lot!"
[H]"Is it? I got used to cooking for my dad."
[T]"He c-could finish all o-of t-these?"
[H]"Yeah."
[What kind of person is his father?]
[T]"H-how about y-you have you e-eaten already?"
[H]"I haven't. I was too busy cooking."
[T]"Then help m-me eat a-all o-of these."
[H]"Eh, but I made them all for you."
[T]"I w-won't be able to e-eat them all."
[H]"Fine."
This food doesn't look like your regular homemade food. Did Hasegawa-san go to culinary school or something? I'll ask her later.
We finished eating, but there's still a lot of food left on the table.
[H]"Ah, I'm Full."
[T]"I told y-you t-there was a lot."
[H]"Fine, I'll tone it down next time."
[T]"B-by the way, d-did you go to s-some culinary s-school?"
[H]"I haven't."
[T]"Then w-where'd you l-learn to c-cook dishes l-like these?"
[H]"I just practiced myself. By reading some recipes."
[T]"Are y-you planning t-to be a chef?"
[H]"It's not that I want to be a chef, but I couldn't do anything about it."
[T]"I'm c-confused."
[H]"It's my dad..."
