Chapter 2 - it was her eyes

He heard the shout and he cursed himself for checking out the noise and was surprised to see a woman who managed to apprehend the person that caused her to shout in the first place, she had her foot on his neck, it was an impressive feat as she put him on a chokehold with her foot. "There goes Gabriella again." He heard someone mutter but another person scoffed. "Serves the bastard right, disgusting bloke kept harassing her and the women." If there's one thing that disgusts him to the core is men like them.

Disgusting pigs.

"Ugh, let me go, you witch, you've cursed me!" Alexander narrowed his eyes as he felt the built-up of magic circulate around the woman, it was dark, alluring, and untapped talent that he leaned a bit forward but then again, he wasn't the only one. "The only curse I want to put upon you is an impotent one so your kind will never produce with how filthy and degenerate you are!" She snarled while the man cowered a bit and the people who were awake to see chuckled.

"Do it!"

"Make him useless!"

The small crowd egged the woman and if Alexander wasn't trying so hard to blend in, he would've chuckled and even volunteered to pin the guy down but alas, he was, and besides... He didn't want to be seen by anyone that might lead the oppositional side to come knocking on his door. He maneuvered himself to be at the side while still maintaining a perfect view of this woman gave him an amusing show while the audience cackled.

Gabriella Godfrey was a woman that didn't back down from a challenge and she wasn't one to be merciful to pigs like the one she's currently stepping on, she knew that she wasn't supposed to give in to her 'urges' as her Mother would put it but she couldn't help it. Fighting people like the pig in front of her enticed a deep dark hunger that she usually suppresses. The woman scoffed before she dropped the pathetic man on the ground hard but the urge she had was to give him a 'new look' to fit his personality.

With a smirk befitting a wicked fae, no one noticed how her eyes had become slightly tinted with a purple and gold ombre that made the air around her vibrate with energy, as she aimed her finger at the man she walked away laughing as she had given him a perfect look for his charming misogynistic personality. When she walked away with her head held up high there was a low thrum of energy that made her pause and look in the direction where a man with piercing gaze had a smirk, he tilted his head in acknowledgment before leaving.

She furrowed her eyebrows because she could've sworn that man looked familiar somehow but nonetheless, she began to do her own shopping while being congratulated on her success in putting the pig in his corner but it wasn't long before the local enforcers had cornered her and the man-pig decided to shout profanities that even the authorities themselves cringe.

"I want her arrested! I want her to be thrown in prison, women like her don't deserve magic!" Gabriella and the rest of the women who possess magic rolled their eyes because this antagonistic pig was the talk of the town when a passing gossip hound saw him beat his own wife for doing a simple house magick. "This is coming from a person that beats his wife because she has more magickal potential than he is insecure that he could barely lit a flame for a fireplace without it being underpowered." She said in an apathetic tone that the man had to scream at her that the local enforcer had to silence him. "Seeing as his actions were made by him, we'll have to investigate that claim of 'beating his wife'." That effectively made the man pale and sweated profusely that Gabriella had to withhold her own smirk. "I can only advise you to not do it again, Ms. Godfrey." The crowd who watched had no restraint in laughing as the man was humiliated twice now in the morning while Gabriella barely did anything for the second part.

"Is this considered a normal day for you now, Gabbie?" She rolled her eyes playfully but her quirked of her lips made the man in front of her laugh. "I can't help but liven your day, Eric." Eric Parley was a man raised with virtue, loyalty, compassion, and sheer stubbornness that would make you either look up to him or leave before you want to throw a chair. "But still, how did you come across that information that he was beating his wife? We've been trying to ask his wife but she was tight-lipped about it in fear." Gabriella felt a pang of sadness as she recalled that night.

"Mrs. Barnaby was so scared of her husband a few nights ago because his store wasn't getting many customers and he decided to take out his frustrations..." Gabriella waved a hand and Eric had a grim expression. "When her husband passed out, she took the moment and booked it, I was out on the roof stargazing when I saw her running out on the streets, she's currently staying with Mama and me, that's why the pig decided to approach me today because that vile woman Patricia Ewey decided to gossip right in front of his shop like a moron." In a small town, you can't avoid gossip hags that have nothing better to do with their lives but circulate hearsays and naysays to fill the void of their never-ending boredom.

"You do realize her name is Lewey, not Ewey, right?" He mussed while Gabriella shot her enforcer friend a look. "You know as much as I do that name suits her better." They both scoff knowing how that vile woman nearly gave a chaotic spell around the town when she poked her nose into something that doesn't even concern her. "Say, Eric, did you notice that we have a newcomer in town?" The enforcer shook his head. "Been too busy with the assignments namely the one that deals with domestic abuse and magickal abuse." She whistled at the last part while he gave her a stern look.

"Just because we are friends, Gabriella, I won't let it slide next time." He said while she had a small smile and nodded. "I know how much this means to you, Eric. I promise that I won't do it again....unless I'm provoked." The exasperated sigh that her friend let out was something they both laughed at. "Okay then, have a good shopping trip, Gabbie." The woman waved her friend goodbye before resuming her daily tasks.

But at the back of her mind, she still hasn't forgotten about that stranger whose aura was calling out to her.

When Alexander returned to the manor, he was a bit perplexed with what he had witnessed in the early morning that he nearly burned his dish, he cursed a bit before focusing on the task at hand and after he was free to think about the woman named Gabriella, he remembered how the built-up of magick around her was something he hasn't felt in a long time. He remembered the burning sensation of her aura but the allure wasn't lost to him since it was something that drawn him to people who became part of his circle.

Her hair only reached up to her shoulders but it looked a lot longer when it was shadowed by the magick she had, it framed her noble-esque face that gave an intimidating factor that he had seen many times in the Council. He wasn't one to lie when he said that Gabriella looked beautiful but it was her eyes that made everything tie together like a perfect red satin bow.

He saw how her eyes changed as she cast her spell on the man, it was her eyes that he saw the power that was hidden away in a small quaint town tucked in Southern Peek lands.

It was just Day One and he was already riddled with things that he didn't know was possible until he changed his path.
