Jonah had been half paying attention to a true crime documentary when Troy came home from a frat party on a Saturday night. His focus had been all over the place for months now. He really needed to pull himself together.
"I have a confession to make," his cousin said nervously as he locked the door behind him.
Jonah didn't even look at him. This was nothing new. "What did you do this time?"
"Eden was at that party. She saw me and I ended up telling her everything," Troy said in a rush before squeezing his eyes shut as if expecting major backlash.
That got his attention. "What?!"
"I had to, okay? She already caught me in the lie of not moving away and I'm sick of seeing you mope around all the time. She knows the basics of what actually happened and is understandably pissed about it but I think once she calms down you'll be able to talk to her again."
"Are you insane? Why didn't you come up with something else?!"
