"So, what do you do for a living, Ezra?" David's friend Dylan asked conversationally.
Ezra washed a bite of his food down with water before answering. "I'm a civil litigation lawyer. Mostly I deal with people suing each other."
"Interesting. Do you like it?"
"Being in court can be stressful but the perks are worth it. It's a decent job," he replied with a shrug.
"Don't get him started; he can go on about being in court forever," Eden warned jokingly so Ezra pulled a face at her, making everyone else at the table laugh. They might not look alike but it was obvious from the way they interacted that they were siblings.
