"Really?" Sam asked doubtfully. "I have a hard time imagining Jonah striking up a conversation with anyone first. He was always so…shy."
Eden felt her blood pressure rising. She knew she had gotten a bad vibe from this guy. She couldn't be positive about the others but she had detected mocking from about half of the table here. She was sure they had been some of the people that bullied Jonah in high school.
Did Troy know that and still let them sit here? What was he thinking?!
"It has been a long time since you've seen him," she said sweetly. "Jonah is a wonderful conversationalist."
She had fallen in love with him sight unseen solely because of her conversations with him. Then she met him out of the dog suit one time and that solidified because of his natural sweetness and how obvious it was that he cared about her.
