Megan had a really stupid idea but it might be the only thing that would get her in the door as Troy's friend. If nothing else, she wanted to talk to him more about music since they hadn't gotten much of a chance after getting sidetracked by their problems.
"Hey, Troy?"
"Yeah?"
"Would it make things at the reunion better if you had someone come with you as backup?"
Troy raised an eyebrow dubiously. "What exactly do you mean by backup? This isn't the sort of thing you can bring anyone to. People do have plus ones but it's for significant others only."
"I mean I could periodically remind you that their opinions don't matter and talk you up to them at the same time. The solution is simple, really. You can pretend I'm your girlfriend for the night. It's not like any of them will know the truth," Megan suggested.
"…and what would you get out of this exactly?"
