Troy continued wallowing in self-pity as he desperately tried to remind himself of what his mom told him the other day. It was sad that he had to rely on her to give him pep talks as a twenty-nine-year-old man but he supposed that was what moms were there for. They never fully outgrew their jobs of loving and supporting their kids.
Why was he still having such a hard time with this? He was doing better than before! He was on his way to having a full-time job that paid nearly twice what he made at Freddie's.
Hanging out with Phil in the middle of the night mostly doing nothing until an emergency call came in wasn't the worst way to make money, even if it did throw off his sleep schedule. But he had to admit that it would make it even harder for him to get a girlfriend.
