Even with a fake explanation mostly concocted, Eden was nervous when they headed over to the Wheeler house the next day around noon. They didn't plan to stay long—two hours tops because they actually did have plans this afternoon—but that wasn't enough to lessen her worry. A lot could happen in a couple of hours.
"We're going to be fine," Jonah reassured her under his breath as they walked up to the front door.
He was squeezing her hand in an attempt to be comforting but she could tell he was comforting himself too. She wasn't the only one that was nervous about how wrong this could go. At least no matter what happened, they were in it together.
Ezra didn't seem to notice the family photos in the living room, though Nadia examined them with interest before Mel led them into the kitchen. She smiled at them before turning toward the stairs and yelling, "Bob! Come down here and say hi!"
