Nadia's innocent question was a grenade with a loose pin. Eden knew her brother wasn't happy about her current living arrangements because she and Jonah hadn't been dating all that long and he knew her previous taste in men was terrible.
She had the exact same reservations he had initially, okay? She hadn't blindly gone charging in. Jonah had to reassure her that he wouldn't kick her out without warning on the off-chance things did go south between them.
Jonah answered as if he couldn't feel the tension in the air. But that might be because he was used to dealing with tense social situations; Eden couldn't tell if he had noticed or not.
"I'm not sure how familiar you are with San Jose so it's kind of hard to describe where our house is. You'll see it soon enough though."
