Troy cleared his throat, embarrassed about getting sentimental by the end of his little speech. Eden couldn't help but smile at his earnestness. He truly did love his cousin even if he could be gruff about it. She was glad Jonah had him too.
"That's all water under the bridge now," she said dismissively. "So, do you still want one of these cinnamon rolls when they're done?"
"Duh! I've been waiting for these ever since you first brought them up. Even my mom only makes the frozen kind because she can't be bothered with letting them rise. What kind of crazy person would turn down homemade cinnamon rolls? Just don't tell Jonah or he'll give me a hard time about it."
"Don't tell me what?" Jonah asked blearily as he rounded the corner.
Troy was quick to explain himself. "Eden's making you cinnamon rolls and I wanted to sneak one. I swear nothing else is happening here."
