"I'm not actually as social as you are, Aubs," Eden pointed out. "You know I only go to everything you invite me to because I have nothing else going on."
Aubrey shook her head indulgently. "I know. But I also know you like it most of the time. Just don't forget about the rest of us now that you have a boyfriend."
"Like I could ever forget about you!"
"Fair enough; I am pretty unforgettable," she preened, making both of them laugh. "But seriously, I want to like this guy for your sake but I'm not happy about what he and his cousin pulled. I still can't believe you're okay with this."
Eden sighed. Sometimes she wondered herself. But she would much rather be with Jonah than without him. Putting her feelings on the matter aside so she could be happy was the lesser of two evils.
"Neither can I, honestly. But I can tell he's trying really hard to make it up to me so I can't ignore that. Love makes idiots of us all."
