Blue Valley had a population of about a few thousand, technically wasn't a valley because of the large distance between the mountains and the center of the valley, but 2 mountains surrounded this little bit of land, a river in between both mountains that went right through the town. To the west side, there was grasslands and the most direct way to the mountain though it was much easier to travel in canoes on the narrow river and through the town of Blue Valley to get around the mountains. To the east was where the few most wealthy residents lived and there was a large wood, almost large enough for you to label it a forest. The family who owned the wood was the Larks family, one of the first families to come to come to Blue Valley one hundred seventy-
something years prior.
Most townspeople knew their place, if you were wealthy you had influence over the authorities and everyone below you simply for having nicer trousers than most everyone else. If you weren't wealthy but still had more money than a peasant in your pockets you'd likely be a target of a kidnapper or pickpocketer simply and there was not much you could really do about it because you didn't have the influence of a wealthy individual. At least, you had a decent, comfy home. The peasants either were homeless, lived in a small home, or slept at their workplace which usually was working for a wealthy person though you didn't get paid much. There was also a groups of people you couldn't really label, there were all on their own.

From her little house hidden near the bottom of the first mountain, Sage was walking to the wood to meditate, like she did every Saturday morning but something, a bad feeling came across her. She'd never gotten this nervous-like before walking there, though she should have because it was private property. She'd only been caught once, 2 months ago, when she was leaving, a gardener saw her and chased her out. She thought that confrontation was silly, it wasn't her fault the Larks never went in to the wood but she did, just wanting to enjoy nature and listen to the chirping birds. A scream interrupted her thoughts and she stopped dead in her tracks. It was a good thing she decided not to enter the wood that morning because the shriek seemed to be coming from the Larks. She worried she was being selfish that she starting walking away, but Sage ignored that worry and walked in to town to run some errands.
While she walked to the market downtown, a few men stopped to try and look right in to her enchanting brown eyes and at her smooth, dark skin but she met their gaze with an intimidating look though she wanted to laugh. It still made her a bit uncomfortable, but multiple men have tried to propose to her at the spot before even knowing her name. She wondered why random strangers had jewels in their coat pockets while running errands in a crowded market, but she wondered a lot of things about this strange little town.
