There she was, hugging her best friend of 13 years, the tears never ending. She didn't want to let go and she couldn't bring herself to. Her long blonde hair blowing in the breeze, sticking to her face thanks to the tears. He was her sanity in her chaotic world. She couldn't lose him.
He pulled away from the hug and gazed into her eyes, his blue ones meeting her tear filled green ones. It pained him to have to leave her but he had no choice. No matter how much he pleaded with his parents to stay, the decision had already been made.
His mother called out from behind him. It was time to go. Hands around her wrists, he whispered a promise that she could only hear before walking off to the car. She looked down at her wrist to see a braided blue bracelet tied on her wrist. Her tears fell even harder as she waved to her best friend who waved back from the backseat, a green bracelet matching hers tied on his wrist.
