Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Login In

Layz felt excited as he walked home with a new product in his bag. What was the product? It was a new vr headset that advertised a new game called "Fantasy.EXE" A beautiful mmorpg game that boasted a 99% realism along with an almost fully free gaming style.

This meant that players had a lot of freedom to do whatever they wanted. Obviously stuff like sexual harassment and taking off clothing wasn't allowed but Layz was happy that those things weren't added. He didn't want to step into town and have his *ss groped by some weirdo.

The npc's were also very smart, the game was created through the new Super Quantum AI. Basically all the npcs in the game were like real people. All these features caused gamers all around the world to shed tears while thanking their gods.

Not only the gamers but this game got the interest of other demographics. Adults were also excited by the idea of wielding magic and being superhumans. While the kids were already drooling from their mouths when they saw the ads.

Some news anchor even said that this game was estimated to have a player population of 5 billion users. This has caused people to speculate that the game would become another world for everyone.

While Layz was also a gamer, meaning he had already went to the store and bought the game's headset.

A little while later Layz made it home and directly went to his room. He excitedly opened the bag and took out the headset. He saw the cord and plugged it into a socket in his room. He excitedly turned it on and put the headset on. A female voice spoke into his mind.

"Welcome to Fantasy.EXE!"

"Would you like to bind your bank account to this account?"

"Yes!"

"Ding! Account has been binded."

"Please choose a username."

"Layz"

"Username accepted!"

"Please customize your avatar."

You would think that the first vr game would have you use your appearance but Fantasy.EXE, like it's name says is a game that allows your to live the fantasy. In this game people can customize their appearance to whatever they want.

Many beta players complained about this feature since they would think they were talking to girls when they were talking to a guy in real life. Not only that but you could make yourself look as good looking or bad looking as you wanted. Almost everyone chose to make themselves look better then they really were.

Some perverts even decided to change their genders. Overall the beta players weren't that happy with this level of freedom for avatar creation but the company just said "It's your choice if you want to play it or not." After that the beta players that complained were all silent.

Sigh, this was why Layz believed that there were no real gamer girls. After feeling down for himself and the rest of the gaming community he finished making his avatar. He didn't really change much, he was a lazy guy so he only added a few minor adjustments. Like adding a scar around his eye to make himself look a little cooler.

He also changed his eye colors to crimson red. When he saw the reflection of his character he thought he looked quite scary. Nodding at that he moved on to the next part.

"Avatar customization finished, Please choose your starter skill."

"Ah let me think... Hmmmm..."

This was a very hard choice to make. This was not your average rpg game. Unlike other rpgs in this one classes didn't really exist. A person could have a stealth skill, a magic spell, sword skill, and more. The problem was to limit this and make sure that people didn't become too powerful there was a limited amount of slots for skills.

In the forums the beta players said that at the start of the game each player would be given 10 slots for skills. Although there weren't classes there were jobs like adventure, blacksmith, merchant, and so on. These jobs gave you extra effects for certain types of skills along with increasing your skill slots every job advancement.

Each advancement increases the skill slot by 5. Along with that a unique concept of special skills were also created. Special skills were skills created when all the slots were filled. Meaning if you had all 10 skills for you 10 slots then a special skill would create that encompassed all the 10 skills into a unique skill.

This was another thing that made many gamers excited for the game. Right now Layz was choosing a skill that would follow his play style. Although the game didn't have classes that didn't mean it didn't allow people to follow specific roles. This first skill choice was the companies way of allowing the players to follow a role. There were 7 skills in total.

"..."

Layz didn't think much of the first couple skills but when he saw the skill at the bottom he couldn't help but wonder if the game company were all trolls. Not only was the last skill the strangest but the description of its effect was the longest one out of the rest of the skills.

It even came with a penalty of increasing your pain sensor by an extra 25%. A normal person would obviously not even look at such a weird skill. Especially because of its name. But Layz was also a troll who liked to joke around and have fun. Right now he was wondering if this was worth the troll.

Going around with such a skill would basically stop him from joining any party. Although the skill seemed to be for a tank build, at the start of the game a tank was not needed. Not only that but by the time tanks were needed better tank skills would be available.

"Ah f*ck it! Let's just go with it." Layz spoke out loud. He then clicked on the last skill Masochistic. When he gained the skill the next part was then shown.

"Please allocate your starter stat points."

Layz thought for a moment before following his skills role. Using the 6 starter stat points he put 4 into vitality and 2 into strength. After that the voice finally told him that everything was finished.

"All customizing has been completed, Sending the player to village #000321"

Layz saw his avatar turn into a beam of light as his vision was blinded by the bright glow. When he could see again he was in the center of a bustling village.

"Enjoy Fantasy.EXE!"

Layz stood still for a while before jumping in the air. With all of his excitement for the adventures that he will have in this Vr world.
