"Young lord, it's time for you to wake up. " The old butler pulled the curtains open, and called out to the little boy on the bed.
"Sebas, just half an hour more. " The boy pulled over his sheets to block incoming sunlight from the windows.
"Everyone is expecting you, they will be mad if you don't wake up. Young Lady Eleanor will also be here soon. " Sebus said pulling the sheets aways from the boy.
Hearing his sister was coming Arthur woke up rubbed his eyes and looked at the butler was now smiling and waiting for him to get out of bed. This was Sebastian, grandpa Alban's butler, who comes to help him after attending to his grandpa since Arthur has yet to find himself an attendant. As a nobility you have to find a good and trustworthy attendant who will serve you for rest of your life. Arthur was still too young and they couldn't trust just anyone with him as many people have been trying to kidnap him, Sebastian volunteered to the work and since he is the oldest and most trusted butler who's family had worked with Lancelot family for generations.
Getting out of bed he did his morning businesses, put cloths, which for today were black pants and white shirt. His shirt was sleeveless and almost backless. It was so to accommodate his wings and tails. His wings and tail were jet black with a bit of shiny red pattern's giving them a look of smoldering coal. Where they joined to his body were soft vermilion feathers which his big sis Eli loved to strock even though she had more feathers than him. He asked Sebus to leave first and tell everyone he will be there soon.
As Sebus left, Arthur looked at his reflection in the mirror. He was only seven but was showing promise to have good looks when he grows up thanks to the Divine Spirit King body he possesses and blessings from the goddess of love and beauty, Rati. He had jet black hair and just like his smoldering coal wings his he had black reptile eyes with red appearing in places makeing them look like small balls of smoldering coal. But something about those eyes made them look like they didn't belong to a seven years old but someone older.
'John..... I saw another memory of your last night. ' Looking at his reflection he thought to himself as if talking to it.
As Arthur grew up he started having weird nightmares of living a life full of misery. Many times he would go to his father crying in the middle of the night but when he tells him about it his father would assure him that these are just dreams, no need to worry but as he grew older he and saw more of them he understood what they were. John was his pastself who lived a miserable life thanks to gods intervening in his life but it was 'pastself' because he was no longer the miserable John but Arthur, a young boy who had a loving family. If it wasn't for him to not wanting to forget the sacrifices done for him by his dad and her, he might have asked god to erase his memories. Arthur swore to live a life that John dreamt of.
He understood why the old man/god made his memories appear in pieces. One reason was off course to help his family adjust to him second was to make it easier for him to let go of his previous life and his fears, which John seems to have plenty, and focus on his new life.
He clenched his fist and toke a deep breath as he cleared his head to go to have breakfast with his loving family.
"hmmm... hmm... hmm" Eleanor talked to her brother's room humming. Arthur who was seven years younger than her was now 7 years old.
'Old enough to kick me out of his room...hump.'
She thought. She used to sleep with him till he was six but afterwards refused to sleep and bath with saying and girl and a boy shouldn't sleep together.
'Who cares.' Is what she always told to him but he always refused saying 'I do and father and mother do as well.' He was right about that, mother totally agreed with him when he asked her to stop bathing with him.
He had grown up to be a very cute kid. He was cute to begin with but that smile of his was totally a foul play. He sometimes gurumples that he looks good only because of the blessing of goddess Rati but who cares about all that. He seems to worry a lot about useless things like this. He was having trouble with weird nightmares which didn't make much sense to her but now a days he doesn't complain about them anymore so maybe all is better now.
She remembered grandpa Hollis saying that there was nothing to worry about and nothing can be done to stop them.
"We can only support him overcome these nightmares. " He said.
Ever since then she had alway been around him. He was a crybaby at the beginning and always scared of everyone but now he has started to relax and some times even look confident. It all thanx to her hard work. She loved to hug him. She loved his smile. He was just too cute and she loved him.
When she reached his room she saw him standing in front of his mirror. He looked confident with his fist clenched and was staring at his reflection. 'What a wonderful pose... ' She thought. He still had to wear backless clothes because he still couldn't shrink his wings and tails to make them pass through small holes in clothing, which was only possible after baptism was done. Eli and her mother and father could do it but grandma Cleo couldn't. It seems to be limited to dragon and pheonix bloodlines. As he turned away from the mirror Eli leaped and pulled him into her arms.
"Good Morning Arc. " She greated him.
"Big sis? Ah...Good Morning" Surprised but still greeted her.
"Not accepted. That's not how you should do it. " She didn't let go of him instead hugged him harder. He hadn't hugged her back. He was becoming very shy as he grew up and she loved to tease him. He hesitantly put his arms around her and hugged her.
"Good Morning Big sis." He greeted her again.
If anyone were to see her right now they would agree that the title given to her by gods is well deserved. She gently stroked his vermilion feathers and he squirmed in her arms to free himself.
"Big sis, you have more feathers than me but you still strock mine. Why? " He said getting away from her.
This idiot, she might have more than him but his feathers were much smoother than hers also she loved how he squirmed in her arms when she did that but there is no need for him to know this.
"I just love them. Now come on let's have our breakfast and than we have to leave for your baptism. Don't you remember? Today we are going for the baptism." She pulled him out of his room and headed to Dinning Hall.
Baptism, Arthur had been excited for this. Only after baptism can one see the system which show's their level and skill. And he was going to get it soon.
