The travel back to the apartment unit was awfully quiet as I fidgeted while thinking of something to break the silence. Cain was staring straight ahead at the twin doors of the elevator while I contemplated a topic to settle on to shrug off the discomfort I was feeling.
"Uh.... Cain... Your work..." I blurted out the next thing that came to mind as his attention shifts towards me, drawing in his gaze as he pivots to look at me.
"Hmm? Trying to chase me off? I just got back and you're reminding me about work already?" Cain chuckles with light amusement in his tone of voice as the light reflected from the elevator lamp dances in his eyes.
"N-no... I didn't mean it that way..." I rubbed my nape from a feeling of discomfort before he corners me against the wall of the elevator and lightly brushes my cheek with his thumb.
