The rest of the day passed me by, but my stomach was the only thing keeping me on my feet. I was starving to death by now and could hardly wait to go home.
"Will you stay back and have a little chat with me?" Caleb asked as he corners me by my locker.
"I... Can't... There's something important I need to do in the evening." I decided not to entertain him for today, having already wasted my opportunity to eat during my lunch break. There's no way I'm skipping dinner too! I've hardly the energy to walk home either and he wants to keep me listening to him stammer over his choice of words? Fat chance!
"Is that so..." Caleb looked unhappy with my response when Dylan suddenly interjects and hands me a bag.
"Yers. Warm it up when ya get home. Added somethin' extra for yer boy too. Maybe he'd lay off ye a lil' tonight and give ye some space." Dylan grins as he drops the bag into my hand and heads to his locker.
