Chapter 1 - CHAPTER ONE: FALLIN'

"Are you signing up?" I look at my older brother who's eating twenty chicken nuggets in just one sit, "Sign up for what?" I'm clueless, I don't know what the fuck he's talking about, since I'm focus on finishing my chicken tenders and head to the music room first. "Oh, you didn't know? Mrs. Mendoza's making a play, I thought you knew?" I sigh and bite of my chicken tender as I take a sip of my apple juice, well, his apple juice.

"Hey! That's my apple juice!" He grabs it and sips, "I don't know if I should sign up, after all, Christina always get the main character. So what's the point to be in it?" I said as he puts down his drink and look at me in the eyes, my brother's damn beautiful blue eyes. Who wouldn't fall for him for that? "Sure Chris gets the part that everyone wants, but why don't you try?" I shake my head 'no' as I pack my notebook that's beside my food, even though I haven't finished it.

"We'll see." I said as I grab my bag and stand up, "Harringtons don't give up, Lav." He said as I give him a smile, "I know we don't, Daniel. Dad used to say that." Right after I said that, a bunch of girls starts to scream. Great, Avery's here. Good thing I'm about to leave the damn cafeteria. "Still not used to the screaming girls, L?" I sternly look at Daniel as he gives me a smirk.

He knows I'm so annoyed at the girls, Zach's just a boy for the love of god! He's not Zach Herron from Why Don't We or Harry Styles from One Direction! "You know that boy loves the attention more than I do, Dani." I said as he chuckles, oh, did I mention my brother is friends with him? Ugh. "I heard that he signed up for the play." "Well, that's one of my reasons for not signing up then." I leave Daniel at our usual spot.

I didn't bother hearing the screaming of these students, all I just want is to leave the cafeteria as soon as possible. I run for the door as I'm almost near, when this body comes in front of me out of nowhere. I fall down the floor as I look who it was. He have this messy brunette hair, his cheeks are almost rosy and he wore this plain black shirt, black joggings and white sneakers. Is someone dead?

Of course, it's Zachary Sinclair Avery himself. He looks down to me as he give me his hand, I can feel all of the girls' death stares at me. I mean, they're hard simping over this guy that's in front of me right now. "Are you alright there?" I grab his hand and helps me stand up, "Yeah, I'm fine." I didn't want look at his brown chocolate eyes, or even him. I grab my bag that's on the floor as I quickly leave the cafeteria.

Lavender Serafina Jayme Harrington doesn't fall in love, ever. I don't want to risk myself getting hurt over and over again, I look around the hallway making sure that no one sees me entering the music room. When I did, I went to the corner of the room, where there's a guitar case behind the whiteboard. I grab it as I set it down on the chair near me, I open it to reveal an acoustic guitar. A lavender one.

Daniel gave me this on my 13th birthday, it was the best present I've ever gotten in my life. I open my bag and get my journal, it's also where I write down some lyrics. I look for the specific page and when I found it, I start to play the guitar. I deeply inhale and exhale as I close my eyes, not caring if someone barge in and listens to me playing.

In the middle of playing, I imagine myself on stage where I play the guitar and see my brother Daniel playing the piano or cello. Either way, he plays a lot of instruments than I do, then I- "Holy shit, what song is that?" I heard the familiar voice said, as I open my eyes and didn't believe who's inside the room with me.

"What are you doing here?" Didn't the bell ring ten minutes ago? I didn't bother coming to classes right now, because I want to think. I want to be alone for a while. "I admit, I was going to my class but then I heard someone strumming the guitar in here, I swear, I'm not stalking you, Harrington." I forgot he's friends with my brother, but wait- how does he know me? Daniel never mentions me to him, I- What? I'm confused.

"How do you know me?" I put down the guitar in the case and stand up, "I saw you with Daniel in the cafeteria earlier, and I asked him who you are. I thought he was trolling me but he wasn't." He said as I sigh, great, now he knows me. I don't even like the attention, especially the fact if ever the girls finds out I'm currently with their boyfriend Zachary Sinclair Avery in the damn music room. "I didn't even know Daniel James Harrington have a sister." He added.

"Why are you here anyway?" I grab my bag, didn't bother answering his question. "Can you stop ignoring me?" I put my journal inside the bag as I look at him with a poker face. "Just because you're the famous straight A student Zachary Sinclair Avery, doesn't mean everything's about you." I said as I cross both of my arms, he couldn't say anything, it's like he's frozen.

"First things first, don't call me Zachary. You're not my mom to call me that, and second, I'm being nice here." He said as I laugh and he looks at me confused. "Whatever." I put back my acoustic guitar where I always hide it, then I'm about to leave when he softly grabs my wrist. "Excuse me?" I look at him, he looks at me sternly.

"Get your fucking hand off my wrist, Zach. I mean it. I won't hesitate to strangle you down." I said, I don't like him being in the same room or place with me. I just- I just don't like it. "Do you hate me that much, Lavender?" I shake my head 'no'. "I would have yelled at you earlier if I do, Avery." He lets go of my hand as the door open, revealing my brother. "Zach? Lavender?" I walk towards Daniel without looking back at Zach.

"What are you doing with my sister, Z?" The overprotective Daniel is activated once again, it's been a while since I see his protective side. "I heard someone playing the guitar earlier, thought it could be Carlos Stokes but it was your sister." Zach said as I look at Daniel with the 'we'll talk later' look as he bites his lower lip and look down.

I'm walking my way to the parking lot, meeting with Daniel and his friends where he parks his Camaro, he called her 'Franny', I don't know why though. As I'm on my way to his parking, I see Nate, Thomas and Kristoffer with Daniel. They're all seniors, well, except Nate. Nate's a sophomore along with me and Zach. Yes, I'm sadly stuck with the popular straight A asshole. Where is he anyway?

"Where were you, Lav?" Nate said as I hug him and put my head on his chest, "Are you okay? Did something happened?" Out of the boys that my brother's friends, Nate is the one I'm close with. It's not we're dating or anything, he was the one who helped me a lot.

"It's nothing, Nate." I look at him as he look at me with a concern look, "It's just— this person barged into music room." He hugs me and kiss my head as he put his head on top of mine, "Was it Zach?" I heard Kristoffer said and I didn't answer him.

"Did he hurt you?" Thomas asked, "No, he did not. He was just invading my privacy." I said as I hear someone sighed. I look at Daniel, who's beside Nate. "Why did you tell him about me, Daniel?" He quickly look at me, "I didn't even know he would follow you to the music room after that, all I said was your name and you're my sister." I roll my eyes.

"WHEN I SAY BOOM BOOM EVERYBODY SAY WAYHOO!" God, that voice again. He's here. Literally everywhere. "Woah, Nate? Are you dating Lavender Harrington?" My eyes grow wide and break the hug as I look at him, "First you invade my privacy, and now making rumors? Are you for real that damn serious, Zachary?!" I said as he look at me with the "'I'm sorry' look.

"Calm down, Harrington. I was just joking. I know Nate Collins here have a girlfriend." He said and chuckles. "So, where to, boys?" Thomas asked as everyone looks at him, "Meet me at ny house in an hour." Daniel said as they left and I open the car door and hop in.

"You know how childish Zach is, Lav. Don't get him into your head." I look at him and quickly look at the window as I fasten my seatbelt, "I have a couple of years in here, and after that, I won't be seeing his face ever again." I said as he laugh. "Whatever, lil' sis."
