It has been 5 years since I have reincarnated into this world. These five years I was able to learn a lot of things about the world, it's geography, power system and an overview of the rulers in various continents apart from doing what every child does which is eat, sleep and shit. This world is called planet Stardust which is simply due to the fact that at night the sky is filled with scattered stars which illuminates the sky as if it is covered by dust particles. They follow the same time, days, months pattern having 12 months in a year containing 365 days. They guessed time based on sun movement and guessed the passing of days with day and night passing. Though their way of telling time was not accurate to the points of seconds and minutes, it still got the job done. There are a total of 8 empires followed by many small and medium sized kingdoms.
This planet Stardust was huge at least as per the maps present in the clan library. Though only a small percentage of planet Stardust was present in the map the area was as big as the Earth. The Shell city where I live belong to Arcadia kingdom which was a medium sized kingdom in the continent. Shell city was only one of the medium sized cities in this kingdom. The capital of Arcadia kingdom is Arcadia city named based on the kingdom itself. It is where the royal palace is present. Various large clans were also present in the Arcadia city which was honestly, the size of a country rather than a city. Another thing which I learned was that the size of the clan is based on the size of the kingdom i.e in case of a large sized kingdom a large clan will be even more bigger than the large clans of a medium sized kingdom and same goes for the large clans of an Empire.
Next is the power structure. There were 3 types of power system which this world followed. The Warriors who developed their Qi by training their body, the Knights who trained their Qi by focusing on sword skills and finally Mages who trained mental energy and constructed spells in their mind. The warriors were trained in the Warrior academy and Knights were trained at Churches and finally the mages were trained at Mages sects which were closed to outsiders and can only be recruited by checking the potential of the candidates. Another thing is that for Warriors there were bloodline limit and for knights there were elemental affinity. Warriors do not compulsorily require bloodline limit and Knights do not necessarily require elemental affinity, however people with bloodline limit and elemental affinity generally perform better than those who do not have them. There were also levels in bloodline limit however that explanation is for some other time. Magic however compulsorily require mental energy which is generally something a person is born with.
I have looked at my step brothers and my step sister train and honestly it scared the hell out of me. I do not know how much guns are effective against them but In terms of hand to hand combat even a warrior apprentice or a Knight apprentice which is the first level of warrior's or knight's training could kill a 10 special forces soldiers as if they were street thugs. Today was the day that I was going to check my affinity as I went towards the clan ancestral hall where they had kept equipments to check my aptitude. As I went inside ancestral hall my father, mother, my father's other wives, my step brothers and my step sister, even my cousins who were my father's brother's sons were present. I went towards my father who was currently standing beside our clan elder, who conducts awakening ceremony. The clan elder asked my palm as he took a needle and pierced it. A drop of my blood spilled as he collected it in a small vial and poured it in a cauldron which is specifically sold to test bloodline limits. These cauldrons are created by alchemist and contain a potion mix and once someone's blood is poured in it, it shows the image of the bloodline limit which is usually some kind of beast's bloodline. The bloodline ranges from ordinary beast to mythical creatures. The potion inside the cauldron is created by potion master where both alchemy and potion making is a specialised field in Magic.
As my blood was poured inside the cauldron there was no reaction which meant that I did not have bloodline power. Though my father was a bit saddened by it he immediately moved on to next test which is element stone. Element stone is the stone used to identify my element affinity, usually lights up as soon as we touch it. As I touched the element stone I felt a warmth around my body which tested my elemental affinity, but it did not light up as well. My father and other relatives who saw it were a bit disappointed but they quickly recovered as not having bloodline power or having elemental affinity is common as only around 40% of people have it and most of them are low level or medium level bloodline. Only people from large clan hold high and supreme bloodline due to breeding in high pedigree. Having a single Elemental affinity is quite common among Knights, however holding more than 1 elemental affinity is also quite rare. In our family only Emily walker had a bloodline limit and that too a medium level one. It was however because she inherited the bloodline of her mother Veronica who had a low level blood line limit and also my father who had a bloodline limit resulting in a mutation which is rare. Wendell, Chris and Liam however did not possess bloodline limit or elemental affinity. Chris and Liam were asked to train in Knighthood as it was common for clans to choose not to lay eggs in the same basket, as well as the fact that every clan member is required to provide an offspring to the church for knighthood training so as to receive the support of the church.
My father who saw that I did not have both elemental affinity as well as bloodline limit, knew I did not have the potential and hurried to perform the third test which was mental energy test. However my clan members did not have any hope and I myself was sour knowing that I did not have potential and would have to rely on hard work to survive in this monstrous world, I set my hand on mental energy test stone. As expected it did not light up however at this moment I did not have my concentration on the mental energy stone, rather I focused inside myself as I heard "Ding. Scanning is performed on the soul. Host identified. Does host wish to bind the system to the soul?" I was shocked to see an A.I like mechanical sound was inside my head. I thought that I was hallucinating as I checked around to see my father look a bit sad but immediately regain his feelings and ask me to think over which training would I like to undergo, followed by asking me to work hard. Soon the hall was empty as everyone went away followed by myself who after sending away everyone and thanking them for attending the ceremony while receiving advice such as talent was not everything, I went towards my room. As soon as I was in my room I concentrated on the voice heard inside my mind "Does host wish to bind the system to the soul". I heard the mechanical voice inside my head once again as I asked the system "Who are you, how did you enter inside my mind". ". Confidential data. Host does not have access to it" said the system. "What do you do. What kind of system are you" I asked. "Replying to host, I am a military exchange system, once host binds me to the soul, host can obtain my services" replied the system.
"Alright, bind the system" I said. "Affirmative, the system starts to bind. 10%...20%....50%.....90%....99%....100%. Binding completed. Military exchange system is activated". I heard the voice in my head while a holographic image appeared before me.
