Mel threatened a league leader to the other's bewildered stares while an officer led the injured man away. It wasn't something you could see every day; what had just happened was so surreal that the attendant didn't even dare to shut the door behind Mel, who was back in the cell.
Those who had just injured Dangoz were avoiding him; not even the Ninth Ward students approached him. It was easy to see who broke the cell door, but Mel's attack on such a person was too surreal for anyone with a rational mind to understand.
