"Kapo, you sound a little hoarse today. What happened, or did you not have a good night?"
Emerging from the utter darkness, Mel was about to step outside, taking priority and starting the conversation. Baybars turned around, climbed the stairs in two steps, and proceeded without answering. It wasn't going to happen; how could Kapo have run away without responding to his teasing?
"Wait a minute, what's the rush? The Energy Crystal Mine isn't going anywhere!"
Running after Kapo, Mel caught him within a few breaths, but Baybars insisted on increasing his speed. It was no longer a joke, as Mel rushed forward in one blow and took his next breath in front of Kapo.
"What happened to your face? Who did this to you?"
