"My king… I mean my prince, you should return to your bed, get some rest." He heard and turned his drunken head stubbornly to the side, locking eyes with a maid he had seen here before. "Where is Ruth?" I huffed, feeling the need to check on the poor being after what I had just witnessed. She must have fled for the safety of her son's life.
"She is gone, has been gone for quite some time." The maid said and I nodded as I pushed myself up as I grabbed the bottle of witch wine from the table.
"My prince… I would advise against it," she said softly and reached her hands forward, reaching to grab the bottle away and I shook my head. "No… this is my bottle and it will nurture me more than my queen will." I muttered and turned to leave only to bump into the one being I hoped to never see again.
