Song recommended: Be Your Love By Bishop Briggs
She couldn't recognise herself in the mirror. Literally. The way that Pelia had dressed her was too maginificent to ignore. No wonder why the past woman had always been the center of attention. It was because of her miracle work. I had literally been transformed into a goddess.
Pelia, took a step back as she looked at her work and gave me a dazzling smile. Admiring her work as though the first one to ever come together and she was sure that this wasn't. Aria was afraid to even breathe the wrong way, just incase something would happen.
This woman's work deserved to be at the peak of the mountain with thousands marvelling at it. She wanted to murder them in broad daylight, even though right now it was late at night.
"I have outdone myself again, I hope that whether you leave or not, you will remember I made you look God's mother." She said with an attitude and headed for the door. "Wait," I called out. "Yes?" she responded when she stopped.
"Is your soul at peace?" I asked randomly. She smiled. not darkly or sarcastically, no she gave me a geninue smile and said, "I have been at peace since I died the second time. Now instead of looking down on myself, I watch the jealous eyes and feed off of them. I might as well be a goddess or the daughter of Medusa because I damn well get my beauty or my eye for beauty from her."
And right then she was gone, leaving me alone with silence as I stared at myself.
"Pick your poison, Aria," I whispered. As I took a step forward and reached for the mirror. Her reflection changed for a second and before her was something she never expected to see.
"Aria." She gasped as she turned to look at the door. She felt her body begin to buzz with fear as she hadn't expected for someone to enter. Salvaster gave her a questioning look and slowly walked towards her. "Is something wrong? Did Pelia scare you or did something enter in here?" He asked, his face covered in worry.
She turned to the mirror, expecting to see what had made her stand on her tip toes and realised it was gone. There in the mirror was a reflection of herself, her face slightly ghosted because of the fear. She looked petrified as if she had truly seen a ghost.
But she knew what she saw… she knew what she saw…
No, was she going mad?
"Aria." Salvaster called out and placed a hand on her shoulder. "What is wrong?" he questioned. "I… i-m… just surprised… I didn't expect Pelia to make me look like this." She said. Knowing that this was going to be a big day and a test, she had to manupulate the truth that way her aura wouldn't change. "Is that it Aria?" he asked.
"That… and I am petrified." she admitted. Again, she manipulated the truth. He gave her a small smile, but a part of her felt sick. "Everything will be okay, keep your head high and remember do not let them make you fumble the power you have in your hands. Even if you're scared, hide it and mask it with something else." He advised.
She nodded, not trusting herself to let out another modified version of the truth. "You are stunning. Now its time. We need to get there as we are already an hour late." he said, and held out his arm for her. Taking one more look at the mirror and making sure that what she saw reflected was indeed her and Salvaster.
She nodded and took his arm, moving towards the door. "Let me quickly test your knowledge on the basics. Name the different realms in our language?" he tested. "Ligera El Reino, the Light Kingdom. Brujas Y Magos El Reino, the Witches and Wizards kingom. Marcadores El Reino, the markers kingdom. Dragones El Reino, the dragons kingdom." She names.
"You forgetting one," he said as they got closer to their destination. She kept quiet for a second, renaming all the kingdoms in her head, then she remembered the one. "Tierra El Reino, the Earth Kingdom." She remembered.
"And right now, before you decide to leave, you represent?" he asked as they reached the closed door. The music clearly heard through the closed doors, "Oscuridad El Reino, The darkness kingdom." She said.
"That's it, now raise your head high, giving a chilling smile and keep your head empty otherwise they will read you. Ready?" he asked. She let out a deep breathe, "No," she admitted. He chuckled, "You're ready."
Right then he gave a nod to the guards and they opened the doors widely for us and immediately she could feel so many energies in one room. It nearly overwhelmed her but she remembered that she couldn't look weak in front of them. So she did what she needed to do.
But damn, it was hard to ignore all those hungry gazes.
Until she locked eyes with him, and what a mighty hungry lion did I notice…
