Chapter 70 - Chapter Seventy_ Cheers To Desire (Part One)

She hadn't come out of her room. Hadn't left the comfort of her bed nor had she pepped out of the blankets. She felt unbearably homesick and today it had hit hard. The sad thing was she couldn't get back home to see how her mother was. She didn't know how to even get back to earth.

The thoughts of yesterday had slowly faded away and left her alone for a moment. She appreciated it for that because now she could at least focus on something she had been bypassing for a while.

She could weep for her mother. Weep for her life that had been just okay on earth. Weep for all the adventures that had just turned into smoke. Weep for her career that she had just got up.

Weep for the changes that she never aspired to witness.

The sound of the door being opened caught her attention but she made no sign to move from under the blankets. Nor did she want the person to see that she had heard them. They might have powers but her power of ignorance would succeed more than anything.

"Is this how she's been the whole day?" she heard. "Yes, barely ate, barely moved, didn't even use the restroom. The maids called out to her but she made no sign of movement."

The sound of a frustrated sigh was released and she raised her brow. She was unsure who was in the room but she knew that it had to be Quin and one of the twins. Which one though she wasn't sure.

"What happened to her? I thought everything was okay between her and the king?" Quin asked. Ah, so this was Salvaster. "I have no clue, I last witnessed them both enter the ballroom as I went searching for James." He said.

"You don't think something happened between the three of them, do you? We all know how the king feels about him and her being in the same place. They have made progress being around each other, we don't want that to change." She said. "We all know that but you must remember, Silver hasn't been the easiest person to pair or to be loved.

The past has ruined a lot of our lives and he still stepped up to be king. He still took the curse and he still accepted to carry the burden of everyone. Had it not been for his sacrifices we would all still be in hiding.

Not to mention the fact that he has tried to love the few that had been chosen and many of them died. Yet two… two left him. If you were in his place would you just take the love offered as though a rose and not questioned where it was plucked from?

Especially since you are surrounded but death and not life." He said. "I just want the pain and the suffering to stop. Let's give them both time and maybe speak to her about it." Quin said.

"Her? You mean, mother? Oof, you might be right but Silver is definitely not going to love that suggestion. Especially since we both don't like mother medelling in certain aspects of our lives. Let's go, we'll check up on her later." He said.

And once the door was closed, Aria held her breath for a good five seconds. Knowing that sometimes people said certain things just to draw out their prey. No, she would wait and ignored what they had said.

It didn't bother her that they had said all of this. It didn't bother her that there had been more in the past. What bothered her was that there had been lives lost and that she could be next. Yet they still went on.

Who were they truly?

Aria had decided to come out of bed for nearly thirty minutes. Deciding it was best to take a seat close to the window and read a book. That way her mind could escape the sorrow that had wedged itself within homesickness and the suffocation of this place.

Maids had come and gone, placed trays of food and refreshments but she just told them to leave with all of it. she had let them clean the room and wash her since they had been so persistent.

Other than that, she had refused everything else. She was too afraid of taking food into her stomach, afraid that her body would reject it as if moral disgust. She had watched the sky's decent colors turn dark, signifying night but she didn't feel tired.

She felt as though she was enchanted.

"They told me that you had refused to eat." Came a voice behind her but it didn't startle her. so she slowly turned her head toward the sound and locked eyes with the very king.

"I didn't want to eat," she said as she turned back to face the view. "You might have not wanted to but you need to. Otherwise, you might as well start the process of killing yourself."

"That would solve a few problems don't you think?" she asked as a small smile positioned itself on her face. "No, no it wouldn't cause my brother would kill me and so would the rest. So if you could at least take something, I would highly appreciate it."

"Why attempt when you know you don't care?" I asked lazily, feeling slightly annoyed. "Who said I didn't," he said. Instantly making me pause and turn to him with a questioning look.
