Aria launched herself onto James, needing to feel if everything wasn't a dream or not and as soon as his arms circled her waist tightly, her body trembled as she began to sob not believing that her best friend was here with her. Everything for once seemed to finally start looking up, reminding her how much she had missed home and how she had missed him.
He had been the one memory that she had clung to, holding onto everything that brought them together and kept them together. No matter how far they traveled apart, no matter what they went through, they had always made sure to try and balance each other out. He wasn't just a dancer that easily moved with her, he wasn't just a man she had once desired to love, he was a man who she always saw as important in her life, and now that they were together again. she wasn't willing to let him go.
Hearing the door close, making sure to blink several times to get rid of the haze created by the tears, Aria's eyes slowly opened, taking in their surroundings as she held onto James. She could feel him run his fingers unclip the piece that held her hair up and when her hair was free, he ran his fingers through them carefully. He took a deep sniff, trying to see if she still smelt like herself and nothing added.
James had never thought that he would be allowed to see Aria as Prince Sal had always declined, saying it wasn't the right time and that soon he would be able to see her and not speak to her until she was at least married. Yet he had never expected to see the grand king himself present her to him himself. He knew it wasn't part of whatever plan they had as he was quick to catch Prince Sal's shock when she came into the room.
His lips had curled into a secret smile as he watched the two have an argument through mind link, before they noticed his looks on them and left abruptly. He didn't care if they would try and torture him later. Or if they would try to drag her away from him, he knew that Aria wouldn't allow it and he knew for a fact that no one how Aria could be, gave him an advantage.
Yet that didn't stop him from wondering what deal had Aria made with the twins for them to end up here. From what he knew it was one that required a life, yet Sal never went into depth. Leaving him in the dark in the deal but for the fact that he was here, he wanted to know what was going on and why they had chosen Aria. James was sure that there were multiple girls that would offer their lives to be Queen but for some odd reason, they had watched and chosen Aria for some time.
"I am so glad to see you, I never thought I would see you again after the hospital. When did they bring you here?" she asked as she pulled back, wiping her tears but slightly smudging her make-up. "I think I've been here since the beginning but for some reason, they kept me far away from you." He said, not releasing the full truth to her as he knew that it was best that she learned it from the royal butts themselves.
"I wonder why…" she said. James could see that it made Aria curious to know why they had brought them both here but kept them apart. She wondered what the plan had been since she had been here and instead of leaving James behind, they took him too. They could have wiped his memory and left him behind, they could have done something smarter but instead, here he was. Seeming to be in good health, with the Prince himself being here at his side.
No, something definitely wasn't right.
Something in her gut told her that James was also hiding something from her. That he was keeping something worth knowing from her and it didn't seem right with her as they had always been two to always confide in each other. Knowing that they could trust each other and that nothing could ruin them without any secrets yet he didn't like the feeling that something was brewing in him and she didn't know what it was.
"Well I'm glad that you are here, I have truly missed you and thought of you every day." She admitted honestly as she stepped back from his hold and put her hair up using the piece that she had taken from his hand. "Same, I always wondered what was going between you and the king. Prince Sal always kept me in here or took me out on certain times, yet never let me come see you."
"Well, I guess I owe the king an apology, I thought he was a complete ass but for the fact that he brought me here, I guess I would have to thank him properly and not see him as an ass sometimes." She said. Even though at the back of her mind, she did truly wonder, if James wasn't allowed to see her, why did he decided to bring her to him?
'Have you lost your damn mind!' Sal shouted mentally at Silver as he watched Aria hug James and slowly being to cry. 'She is not supposed to be around him and you know it, have you lost your sanity!' he went on until he felt the gaze of James and walked out the room with Silver. Their steps were heavy as they walked the corridor until they reached the main room and gestured at everyone to leave them. once the door was shut and they were sure there was no source of life inside.
Sal released his anger, "The fuck is wrong with you! Why on earth would you bring Aria to see the young man, knowing that they have a strong history and that she could easily decide to choose him over you in a snap of a finger." He snapped, feeling pissed that his brother had ruined the planning that he had made. "It is for the best that she does that and doesn't choose to remain here, have you not heard what's been happening lately with her and the last training Quin had for her." Silver said as he poured himself wine.
"You are self-sabotaging this because you think she will be like the other girl that disappeared and left! This is ignorance, you keep forgetting that the more time passes, the more you will lose the throne and everything that we have all worked for. I see your heart Silver and though you object to it, a part of you wants this to work. Stop seeing everything in your pain and see it as something good for once." Sal snapped at him.
"This is pathetic," Silver said, not feeling bothered that his brother was pissed at him, he couldn't care less about everything that he had done, he would keep control of the throne, and sooner or later, he would pick a wife for himself.
