Aria had expected to feel the air rushing past her ears as she fell backward, she had expected her screams to somehow erupt from her soul and for some sort of pain to finally feel but no she didn't feel any of that.
In fact, she didn't fall, literally.
Aria seemed to be laying on air as though the ground and she knew that this was something that humans were not used to seeing. These types of things only happened in movies or animations, something she was constantly keen on watching but now it seemed as though she had now joined the idealogy of the production and it did not seat well with her.
So instead of questioning the two strangers she simply stepped forward on the cursed earthly ground and watched the two strange beings with an expression of hatred. She despised them because all she wanted to do was join her mother in the afterlife, hoping that all would be solved there so she didn't have to deal with being alone.
So she didn't have to deal with being with people that didn't know what resonated in her heart, mind, and spirit. The men that stood before her though refused to show their faces and Aria wanted nothing more than to let out a scream and beg them to let her let go of this life that had been thrust upon her.
Instead, she bit back her screams and stared at them with tears falling, soon she heard the crunch of leaves again and she wondered if this would turn into a cult if there were more strangers coming after her.
Had she owed money? Had someone decided to prank her to teach her a lesson? And what would be the lesson in this case? Not to overprotect your mother and let her love easily as she choose?
Sounded like a load of shit, it's like telling all women that they like princess stories and all waited in towers as though they were all damsels in distress. This wasn't Cinderella, Alladin, Ariel, Snow White, and so much more.
This was real life and in this life, she wished to have control over her own actions and not to be moderated by others for it. Sighing, she wondered if she sounded like a feminist or like someone who was really done proving to everyone else that she was a good person?
The person from the forest finally stepped out and she noticed that it was James, he seemed to have cuts on his face and dirt tarnishing his jeans and shoes. The sweat covering his face as though he had run a race or as though he was trying to find the antidote to cancer.
He looked at the two strangers at the two sides then his eyes settled on me, he seemed to be relieved but then as he went to take a closer step to me, she saw how his face morphed into confusion as though he had hit a wall and it would not let him get pass.
"What on earth is happening?" he questioned as he punched the air in my sights but a wall in his.
"What have you done?" she questioned, slightly worried about James who still seemed to be fighting to get to her.
"Tsk tsk, how sad it is to see a beautiful woman like you, find yourself in such a predicament and to think you still care about the beings of the earth but not about the earth." the stranger on the left said as he stepped forward, slowly walking toward her.
Aria was sure that she could sense a smile form on the stranger's face, what was worse was that she could definitely sense how his voice alone seemed to allure her to him and it frightened her because she had never felt this kind of feeling before.
"Let. Him. Go" she demanded.
"Oh, sure sweetheart but first let us play a game and if you win, I'll make sure my brother doesn't kill him for my entertainment alone. This game is simple, you are given a choice and what you choose is what you get. Without any tricks, but you must be wise because it will cost you something and the consequence will only be yours to bear.
Are you ready?" he asked.
"What are the rules, I don't fully believe that the game with the devil is as easy as stated," she murmured.
"Smart and beautiful, what an amazing combination." he laughed, "What are the rules brother?"
"Be clear and wise with your choice," his brother said loudly.
"Alright, I'll bite," she said as she noticed how bloody James' fists seem to become the more he punched the unseen wall.
"Your mother's life or your lover's life?" he stated simply.
