The portal closed within a blink of an eye after the two-man stepped out, both having changed appearances to seem like the casual attractive young men with blue eyes instead of gold. They had made sure to dress as humans did to blend in and not attract any attention. Yet when they drew closer to the building, many eyes turned to watch them, already drawn in by their aura and physique.
It made Sergio's skin crawl with disgust, he hated drawing people in because of his physique. This was one of the many reasons why he preferred to stay in the shadows and do what was required for his brother and mother. He knew how to blend in with the darkness very well and perform tasks that would be too much for his brother.
He was always the one to bask in his brother's shadow, never having an issue in rarely being seen. He had gotten used to it, in fact, he had gotten so good that many people didn't know that the king had a twin brother. Many people didn't even know that the king had a family that was alive and growing at every moment.
All thanks to their mother.
His mother was one to point out how different the twins were despite the image, one was reserved and moved silently. While the other was bubbly and preferred to make a mess out of things as if portraying a new source of art that everyone had to acknowledge. That was one of the reasons he became king so easily.
Silver adored the way he could draw in a crowd, he loved to bask in attention that many gave him as though he was a newborn baby. Women and men threw themselves at his feet as well as his brothers but he was the only one to enjoy the company they gave. He was also the one to easily get bored and desire a change, so commitment was never an option to him.
He didn't want to be restricted or tied down to anyone but to his responsibilities as king. He didn't want anything that made him seem weak, didn't want to put someone in the spotlight and watch them get taken. He didn't want that but now he had no choice but to commit otherwise he would lose something that his family valued more than anything.
Power.
Despite everyone having only seen the reckless side of the young man who seemed to constantly be power-hungry, Silver was quite wise. He preferred to know and test the people that were around him, especially the ministers, not because he enjoyed making them look stupid. But because he needed to make sure that they never made mistakes when it came to running parts of the kingdom.
He always made sure to dedicate the little time he had to be in silent places so that voices couldn't bother him from making decisions. He needed to make sure to be wise in every way possible, he would not be taken down easily as he had taken down his father. He and his family had sacrificed too much to easily let things go.
Though Silver enjoyed running the kingdom, at times, he struggled to be king and felt like it was a waste to lead people that demanded positions and benefits that they didn't deserve. There were times where he just wanted to unleash the true part of him and have their blood stain his carpet.
He was capable but it would be a bad idea to wipe the world clean again, somebody else already took that mojo.
There were days where he had to ask Sergio to step in even though he knew that Sergio hated ruling the kingdom. Sergio would much rather restart his life over somewhere else than deal with the greedy pigs. He would rather burn the very kingdom that had shamed them for being bastards and forced them into being outcasts.
The very kingdom that had spat and spoken down at their mother before and after they were born. The very kingdom that burned down their shelter and made sure we never received aid for years. Until someone finally took us into another kingdom for hiding, boys had turned to men in a matter of months and one day, instead of being normal people in a foreign land, returned to their homeland and caused havoc.
I guess we had someone to thank for that. Had it not been for their rebelling, they wouldn't have killed the king, in fact, they wouldn't even be here today. It always sparked a thought though, a question, what would they be if they hadn't rebelled and become normal people in a foreign land.
"Nobody knows my dear brother. Nobody knows, we can always assume," Sergio whispered as they drew closer to the entrance of the club and begun looking for the woman.
It was time to see why this human was so special for Silver and why Sergio had chosen her personally...
