Chereads / The Millennium Dream / Chapter 2 - chapter 2

Chapter 2 - chapter 2

32 years later, society had evolved to incorporate Keys into their daily routine. Keys bagan to become opportunity to everyone regardless of where they came from.

Keys that were big, shiny, that looked gorgeous, or that was very powerful you could be anything.

On the other hand if you had a crappie key you weren't to popular.

Keys did create opportunities for some. For example if you a Key in the shape of a spatula if you were to stand in front of a grill or fry top you would be like a wizard.

But that just on the small scale but if a doctor were to be able to receive a scalpel they would be able to remove brain tumors for patients easily and so Keys began to decide the future of a person.

A person can see their key for the first time in their sleep after they are born, but it's only when they turn 5 are they able to really able to grab hold of their Key.

On a bright sunny day in front of an orphanage a baby was wailing.

Stunned to the sudden cries the director came out to see a child wrapped in a blanket and laying in a box.

He immediately brought the child in to the orphanage.

When the director looked down and picked up the child he seen a piece of paper fall out with the name "Kin" written on it.

It's been 4 years since Kin was abandoned at the orphanage.

He was small but he didn't really wasn't bullied or was made fun of.

He loved seeing the new Heroes who have been awakened from their new Keys and became famous.

Kin grew really close to the worker who brought him into the church, his name was Kaqua.

Kaqua grew close to Kin when he started telling him stories about Dream Land.

Kaqua said he remembers falling asleep and being in the room with the tall and white pillars so high he couldn't see the ceiling and could only see a starry night sky, but couldn't recognize a constellation.

Kaqua also claimed that after he finished the tutorial the things he seen and done was extraordinary.

Seeing and hearing all these stories from people and Kaqua, Kin couldn't wait to turn 5 to receive his key and when he turns 16 to go to Dream Land.

On Kin's 5th birthday he was super excited to finally see is Key and the room that changed the world.

At last at 1:00 am he went to sleep and seen the long corridor that everyone was only able to describe and draw in pictures.

When he opened his eyes he was in a long corridor that had white pillers and the base it sat on was 10 meters long and so tall he couldn't even see how high it went.

When he looked up it looked as if there was no ceiling it was like stars shining in this blank black sky.

The pillers were 50 meters apart from one another, as he walked down the long corridor that felt like forever to travel he arrived at a wall with a huge doors.

Everything people have described up to this point seemed to have been a match.

Although when he touched the doors there was somethings that people didn't tell him.

There was a pedestal like normal and torches with flames in 12 different colors arranged in some sort of sigil.

But that's not what stood out to him, what really cought his eye was the chest on the pedestal instead of his key.

The chest was plain old wood with metal strips and bolts to hold the thing together.

It looked old and worn it had no lock on it but with all the holes it had a lock would probably be no help.

He began walking forward curious because no one ever said they had a chest.

He Thought maybe his key was inside the chest and how this could be super rare key something similar to the key like "The Red Eyes Hero" or "The Holy Power."

They're his heros people who made it to the other side and back alive and began to live like kings.

As he opened his chest a bright light began to shine through the lid and the body.

The light also began to pour out from the holes in the chest.

By the time the chest was fully open the light was so brilliant he couldn't even see and he closed his eyes.

When he opened them he seen the sunlight shining through is blinds on the bottom of his bunk bed, in the room that he shared with 5 other kids.

The other kids were around him because they knew that it was his 5 birthday.

There was 5 boys that he stayed with in one room.

4 of the boys that were around him they began to ask, "What key did you get? Was it a good one?"

"Did you get a weapon?"

"A sword would be cool."

"Idk i mean swords are cool but a gun would be awesome"

Kin sat up from his bed and thought that because he closed his eyes he had still not seen his key.

"Stand back everyone im going to summon my key!"

The 4 boys step back and the 1 boy standing in the corner acting like he doesn't care but was still curious about the conversation watched closely.

"I summon my key!"

But nothing happened flustered he tried again but with more vigor.

"I summon my key!"

But still nothing happened.

The boy in the corner of the room bagan to laugh.

"If that's how your key acts now, I can't wait to see what will happen when you actually get to use it!"

Jacks was the name of the boy who laughed he was the oldest in the room and got his key 2 years before Kin.

"Watch this."

Jacks opened his right hand and said

"SUMMON!"

A gush of wind rushed past Kin, as Kin watched Jacks hand he seen a black hole open.

When Jacks closed his hand he began to grip the handle of his key as he pulled it from the Black hole.

It was a small one hand battle ax, there was to side of the ax one was a regular like a normal ax and the other was the side that was the Key.

"That's how you summon a key!"

He held the ax up like a trophy.

1 boy then said, "Yeah yeah but we already seen yours, we want to see a new key."

The boys began to summon their keys even though they weren't allowed to in the orphanage.

After they all summoned their keys they asked Kin to try one more time.

He closed his eye and began to concentrate.

He calmed his breathing.

He began to think back to when he was inside the room again and also thinking about the chest that he seen the bright light.

"SUMMON!!!"

He screamed to the top of his lungs, and with a gush of wind he felt like it piled in his hand.

The whole room fell silent.

Kin opened his eyes and he felt that there was something there he looked down and opened his hand.

All that was there was a small rusty key that wasn't in the shape of anything not a sword or a gun not even a spatula.

It was just a small rusty key that you would see in a cartoon.
