They still looked confused so I clarified in simple words.
" Why were all four of you going together?" I sounded suspicious and knew I needed to get them out of here soon.
"Look my grand-daughter is going to be finished with her shower and you guys need to get back. There's a school a mile from here if you go that way.* points Northwest* You'll be able to find your way back alright?" My patience was running out and they were going to get a not so grandma like grandma.
" Thanks miss we greatly appreciate it" The chocolate-eyed boy answers. Smiling I tell them to wait right there as I go get my famous cookies. Quickly placing cookies into a bag I turn the water off in the bathroom upstairs and take a cookie with me. Getting back to the boys I hand them a bag and practically shove them out the door. Too late, the squirrel had the instructions and it had to act.
" Kupunawahine are you up already? I hear voices. Who did you let in?" I quickly call back to the squirrel while pushing them out the door.
"ʻAʻohe mea aloha, i kēia manawa, hoʻomākaukau no ke kula a iho i lalo." Hearing the squirrel going back into the room I close the front door behind me and turn to look at the boys.
"I wish you a huakaʻi palekana, i kēia manawa Aloha." Waving bye to them I eat my cookie and head inside. They just made my morning difficult. Walking to the kitchen I put the cookies and milk away. I could've been the crazy grandma who shooed people of her land. That would've been so much easier, but no I had to be nice and invite them in...I need to get better at assessing issues. SIghing I walk upstairs to help the squirrel. Once up the stairs, I head to the guest bedroom it's in and undo my magic. I wish I had my family with me, but that will never be possible. I know where they are and I can easily see them. Things got harder once they had more children. They used to always think about me; never do anymore and yet, I always think about them and what life could've been if I wasn't forced to go by the cruel world. I hear a doe calling for her family out in the distance, bringing me back to the present. I force myself to get up and move around. Looking at the time I put on my shoes and head outside. I hear the doe calling again and again each time more distressed. Worried I mid-shift in the air into a hawk. Looking around I see the doe being circled by a group of wolves. I shifted a bit away out of sight from the wolves and doe. I decided to shift into my human form. Angry as ever I yell at the stupid wolves.
"What in the world do y;ou think you are doing!?! Why are you hoʻopuni i ka doe ʻilihune?!? E nā holoholona, nā holoholona! E haʻalele iā ia !!! ʻO ʻoe kahi kāne !!!" I was livid with these Nā Wolves. Although I realize now that these wolves are actually Nā mea hoʻohuli kini Canine, to be more specific ʻalihi ʻīlio hae. Not caring to act more like a human I rush to the doe and talk soothingly in 'lelo (My language).
"Hush iki doe i kāu maikaʻi, kāu palekana me aʻu." Petting the mama deer calming her down I look to the wolves. My eyes dead as I realize they killed her babies. Growing angrier by the second I pick the mother up. Glaring at the wolves I flip my hair off my shoulder and turn on my heel. Finding my lake I look around and call for the male.
"ʻO Darmuke! e hele koke mai ua make kāu mau keiki a makaʻu loa kāu ʻāpā liʻiliʻi." (I won't tell you what I said.) The buck comes with the other deer. Walking to greet them I put the mother deer at the feet of her husband and say goodbye. This excursion took more time than I have which means I have to shift to get there on time. Cursing those stupid wolves I head in the direction of the school. Climbing up a tree I quickly shift into a hummingbird. Zooming through the trees I make it right when the bell rings.
"Kaulana ia! I'm going to be late" I had shifted and stood on a branch. Jumping down I walk to the school's front doors. Sighing I walk inside. Finding the front desk wasn't that hard, but the stench of ʻūlio hihiu have hit my nose making me cringe back. Taking a breath I open the door and walk in trying not to cringe and race outside.
"Hello, how may I help you?" She looks at me with a questioning look.
"I'm Nani Mana Loa, I'm the new student." My green eyes scan her's, daring her to complain and question me.
"Right, right, the new student." she shuffles around looking for my papers " Ahh, right, here ya go. This is your schedule and this is your locker combination." She says handing me my papers. I say a quick thanks and beeline out of there. Looking at the time I look down at my schedule to see which class I'm in right now.
