Suddenly a high pitched voice called out from afar.
It was Shea...
Why was she here?
"Del I need to talk to you in private?" She asked coming towards him.
Did she see?
That could complicate things...
Maybe it would just be better to be rid of her too; so no one could interfere with his plans. Finally deciding to go with her to see if she knew anything her expression soon gave away she hadn't a clue what had just taken place. Lucky her.
He silently followed behind her as she held his hand with a blush and led him to an empty room. Inside was a simple bed and a large glass of high content whiskey. Shea poured him and herself a glass while they sat down. He suspiciously eyed the glass and watched her down some herself before he too drank from his glass. He certainly was gluttonous when it came to his beverages.
Shea didn't seem on guard, and he was hoping that he could squeeze as much information out of her so he could go back to his fiancé. He longed to see her and embrace her again. Hopefully, the alcohol she was drinking would get answers out of her sooner.
"Hmm... Del. It's still not too late you know..." She trailed off now clearly drunk after some time had passed. After only a few glasses, she went from tipsy to full on drunk. The alcohol they had been drinking was really potent. The fancy glass now empty bottle laid on its side from where he had drank the majority of it. Luckily for him he had high tolerance and wasn't easily affected unlike others. Though, he himself was a bit dazed too as it finally registered into his system and started to effect him.
The entire time he had listened to her whine about how it was unfair and that they should be together. Due to the drinks he had stayed longer than he intended and was worried that Silla would be looking for him.
Shea was honestly nothing but a selfish, greedy gold digger to him; nothing compared to his love. An insignificant being he only used ever used. Getting up to leave he was suddenly stopped by a roughly by the drunk woman who pinned him to the bed. Stunned and inebriated he paused as she sloppily forced kisses on him; her red lipstick disgustingly smearing all over his face. She tried quickly to unbuckle his belt but was stopped when an a gasp from the doorway sounded.
Turning around Shea was surprised to see Silla looking at them in shock. Her eyes staring a bit as Shea held a proud and triumphant smirk on her face.
Big blue eyes watched in silence as she wasn't sure of herself at the moment she felt her heart ache. A word tore from her throat. She wasn't sure what it was but it caused Declan's eyes to widen, and she swore she saw a bit of something in his eyes. Desperation? Insanity? It could've been anything. But it caused her to take a step back not wanting to see anymore than she already is had and turned away running down the board walk.
Panicked green eyes only widening as he violently shoved Shea off him and ran after the other woman. His heart broken into pieces when he saw the expression on her face. She stood on the large balcony the transparent white curtains blowing in the wind like her hair. The brewing storm ahead was getting closer. He couldn't see her face as she was in the opposite directions but he was desperate to set things right. His eyes were dazed, and he felt warm and fuzzy from the alcohol. His entire body seemed to be hotter than usual.
A soft sight was heard, and it made his heart break even more if that was possible. He stood shakily by the entrance and watched her through the curtains. "I know your there," she suddenly spoke not even turning around to face him.
"Just leave me alone right now." She shakes her head wishing to just be by herself with the loud splatters of the rain starting above them slowly drizzling.
"No, come inside. You v'ill get sick from z'e rain." He steps closer to her, but she pulls away.
The rain pours even harsher than before. His eyes reel with anguish as his brows knit together. She turns, and she peers up into his intense pair that are partially hidden by wet strands of hair. Silla tries not to observe the water dripping from his lips and how his entire body is printing through the soaked fabric of his shirt. It was like she was punishing herself by standing in the cold water.
He was slowly getting impatient with her stubbornness and was soon going to try a different approach. Del had never loved anyone as much as he loves her, and though he is respectful and understanding, he cannot allow her to leave him again. He already spent so much time looking for her, and he certainly wasn't going to lose her.
Not this time.
Suddenly, she froze when his hot breathe fanned the back of her cold neck. "H-Hey, ha ha... What are you doing?" Her voice started to shake. Two strong hands were on her waist, and he lifted her up and threw her over his shoulder in a swift action. She gasps, as she is now faced down, only able to see his feet move in the rain.
"P-Put me down, Del." She attempts to free herself but is of no avail. Her cheeks resemble tomatoes as she beats his back.
"I can't do z'at. The rain is heavy and I v'ill not allow you to stay out here."
"I'm serious, Del. Put me down!" She commands.
"And so am I. Behave." He hisses. He wasn't being the big softy he usually was, and he sounded slightly pissed. Once inside again he sat her down on a leather couch and made sure to bundle her in blankets as he gently sighed resting his head on her lap.
"V'hat should I do?" He murmured sadly as she just became more confused by his sudden sullenness. His mood swings while he was drunk seemed to be out of control.
"You are so beautiful and precious. V'hy don't I hide you somewhere no one can see you?"
... You are such a fragile little thing. You can't possibly do.... Anything on your own." He whispered in her ear with a deep, husky voice. He smelled of booze and yet it made him more attractive.
"H-Ha ha... Please, um, stop? Please?" She tried sounding polite. She didn't have enough strength mentally and physically to deal with her current predicament. He gently wrapped his arms around her and looked out at the dark water shining in the moonlight together through the grand arc like windows.
He opened his mouth to explain about Shea but Silla cut him off. "Why did you come find me after all this time?" It was a question she always wanted to know.
"Because... I have al'vays loved you. I fell in love v'ith you as soon as I met you..." He answered silently. He knew from the moment he saw her that she was his.
"B-But why? I don't understand?"
"Silla, I love you because you're such a good girl. Very polite, kind, and sweet, you need to be protected from the world." He then gently ruffled her soft hair.
"B-But Shea-"She tried but was interrupted with his thumb on her lips. It was now abundantly clear to the what had happened and it made perfect sense. She didn't know why she doubted the man in the first place. He was the one besotted with her since the beginning.
In silence she gazed at him as the bright full moon shined in on them and the waves below. It still wasn't clear if she dreamed this moment to life, but there was raw emotion in the way his arms curled around hers.
"I love you..." He whispered as he reached for her hand and brought it to his lips, planting a soft kiss on it.
"You're mine... And no one else's..." He wasn't sure if nature rooted for this moment or if his mind tricked him into a perfect present, but the soft look in Silla's eyes was something that he always yearned for. He always wanted her to look at him the way he looked at her.
For a split second he thought it was a cruel joke but it's wasn't...
If anything, the warm feeling of her breath, although destabilizing, was inviting. This time around he draped both arms around her small frame and inched closer to her just like she had to him. Heat rose from her stomach to her chest. Declan's lips were getting closer, and her heart decided to skip a beat, the smell of him hypnotic beyond reason. She parted her lips and felt him wash over like a wave of warmth, curling her toes, unfurling all her senses as the taste of him nearly silenced all thoughts.
Her whole body tingled, the feel of his frame leaning on hers as his arms wrapped around her felt nearly forbidden. He pulled her in, claiming her mouth again, hungry and intense, until her body gave in. By the time she became aware of her fingers, they had already slipped under his shirt; his skin smooth and radiating heat.
As if time had stopped right there, as they stood propped against the soft cushions, glued to one another. As if no one else existed and for Silla, as if the boy she met in the warehouse so long ago was all she needed. It was shocking. He wasn't the little boy she knew anymore.
"Do you accept me?" He broke the kiss with hot pants holding her face still with both of his hands looking her in her beautiful night sky eyes a very serious look on his face.
"Y-Yes..."
Unbeknownst to her his eyes swirled with infatuation and madness. Crazed thoughts invaded his mind. The words he always wanted to hear were finally happening, and he froze as his mind went into a whirlwind. He wasn't quite expecting her to say she loves him back yet but in time she would come to yearn for him as he yearned for her.
Their relationship was abnormally painful to his impatience, and he wanted to have her now but his plan was finally all coming together.
In the shadows of the room watching unknown to them, Declan's eyes weren't the only ones who swirled with madness. Off into the dark a sharp glare pierces their backs. Small mumblings and ramblings making their way out of the persons mouth and cracked blood colored lips.
"If I can't have you, no one can..."
Out of the silence a sudden click was heard. Startling them both from gazing at the moon together. She had heard it many times in movies, but the sound of a gun being cocked was much more bone chilling in real life. Out of the corner of Silla's blue eyes she saw a bright silver glare and a sudden booming sound before she felt a painful pressure in her shoulder the silver glare of a bullet in slow motion as her eye watched it pass by and hit her.
She reached a gentle hand up to her shoulder and felt a dark hot red liquid spurt between her fingers as she looked down at the wound. It all happened so fast. A loud ringing in her ears as Declan's panicked green eyes flashed back and forth. His screams falling silent on her ears as his fearful face made her heart ache.
His bloodshot eyes suddenly flashing behind his blonde bangs to the brightly smiling Shea's with a light blush on her cheeks. He whipped around like lightning lividly. Her smile swiftly dropped and a nervous sweat washed over her. A panicked expression in her face as her hand with the pistol slowly shook in fear.
Faster than lightning a silver blade flew through the air spinning stabbing her in the throat her blood spraying the deck as her still live body stumbled near the rail. But before she went over Silla's gaze met an wickedly smirking Shea's and a small pistol in her hand. She evilly laughed as she fired one last shot from her pistol falling into cold depths.
The bullet just barely missing Silla by a thread but it caused her to falter. Her scream was so loud it grated her throat. The side of the boat sliced into her palms, but she couldn't hold onto anything causing her to trip over the rail and into the cold deep dark water that swallowed the girl whole with one splash as Declan desperately hung over the ledge reached out to her falling form screamed angrily pulling his hair with both his hands.
Silla's arms and legs kick out desperately as she tried to swim to the surface. The dark indigo water swirling around her, trapping her, keeping her from the oxygen she needed. Her entire body throbbing, her lungs feeling as though they'd been set on fire from the salty burning water flowing into her lungs and throat. The last thing she saw was a full moon blotted by the clouds. Dark water swallowing her, and a freezing current thrashing her back and forth.
She kicked and flailed, but it was useless. Water, seeping with seaweed and raw fish, filed her mouth. Her throat sealing shut blocking her gasps for air, but only for a moment before the ocean rushed into her lungs once again. She was going to die. Every cell in her body fought that reality until it was impossible to deny but when the final breath squeaked from her airways, the fear melted away. Everything slowed, as if she was an insect fossilized in amber. A quiet, frothy calm passed over her as she floated beneath the surface, silvery light pouring through the water above. It was a deep indigo blue, like the depths of space. Her hand extended up, reaching, but couldn't touch anything anymore. Her head became weightless, her energy drained in a way she didn't know possible. The thrashing had stopped. Somehow, none of that mattered anymore.
She held her breath as long as she could, too long in fact. Red and black splotches danced in front of her and she couldn't remember if her eyes were opened or closed. Slowly, black begins to seep in at the edge of her vision. Then, ever so calmly, everything faded away. Painfully, quietly. She didn't want to die like this, but it was too hard to try to fight, so she simply let the darkness take over her. It enveloped her. The water closed in around her, filling her with a deep calm.
The coldness she had felt upon entering the water was completely gone. A desperate hot wave had come over her, warming even her frosted toes. Her heart was beating slowing, and she could strangely hear it for the first time in her life as everything was still and silent. She slowly sank to the sandy floor as bubbles from her mouth made their way to the surface. A slight ray of moonlight shining through the water onto her in the deep darkness lighting the little bubbles of oxygen going up to the surface unlike her. It was beautiful and the last thing she saw before she felt a heavy tiredness come over her.
Back on the surface Declan dove into the watery depths without another thought. He held his breath and opened his eyes in the dark blurry water even as it burned. Rays of moonlight and light from the capsule shining through the depths being his only source of light made it even harder to see anything.
Where was she?
He couldn't find her.
Time was against him. He could only hold his breath for so long, and Silla had been lost in the depths much longer than him. He had already swam down so far that when he looked up the boat seemed to be so far away. The farther down he went the colder the water got. The boat was there, so she must be around the bottom.
Suddenly he was blinded when a sudden ray of moonlight reflected off an object down below. He desperately swam further down into the deep unknown. Long raven locks swayed in the water as he saw his love who had sunk to the floor. Her ethereal skin glowing and standing out in the almost black water. The moonlight reflecting from his ring on her finger from the above.
He reached out to her as she seemed to sink deeper and deeper into the abyss. Her white dress flowing around her. Bubbles rising to the surface around them reflecting rays of colors into the clear water. Her long black eyelashes resting on her pale cheeks, her eyes were closed and she was unconscious if not dead.
Her hand was barely in reach and his finger tips almost touched hers. Finally, her cold body was in his arms. He shot up to the surface and gasped for air with his cold and lifeless looking fiancée in his arms. His now dark blonde wet hair clinging to his face as he swam to the deck the people and maids from the manor shouting in worry as they dragged him to dry land and wrapped warm blankets around them.
Once settled he laid with the girl in his arms not letting go. Until he lightly shook her and called her name gently to wake her. But when she didn't respond this time, he did so again but rougher. When he realized she wasn't breathing his eyes widened and he froze as he shook.
It couldn't be...
Her heart was as still and as cold as ice. This was one of the only times in his life that Declan had truly felt fear. He swiftly but gently opened her lips and placed his on her own. Blowing air into her lifeless lungs with a desperate kiss. Holding her body close to his to retain warmth.
When he finally pulled back his hopeful expression trembled and he bit his lip softly quivering a single tear running out of his eye as she laid still. She had finally started to warm up to his but now she was gone.
"Don't... Don't leave me again!" His voice trembled holding her to his chest.
Something about his voice had stirred something in her life less body. And suddenly with a slight movement from her mouth mumbling a single word.
"Del."
She violently shot up and coughed up water and quivered in his lap as he softly patted her back as she took in air. Though Silla was quickly shocked when he suddenly grasped her in a tight hug not letting go until he was reassured she was really there and safe in his arms.
"It's alright, love." He said in a deep melodic masculine voice. He flashed her a breathtaking smile, showing off his perfectly white and straight teeth.
He pulled her even closer into his chest and wrapped strong arms around her shoulders as he buried his face in her hair as he breathed deeply.
"Nothing is going to hurt you." He whispered.
"Not even me."
