Chapter 2 - ➀

Around five minutes later, Hirotomo arrived with a tray that had a cup, a cake slice, and a cute adorned bag, with that smile on his face I already got used to.

He placed the tray on my table "Here's your coffee and cake! The cream is cat-shaped, and the treat is Shy's favourite, fish flavour snacks!"

≤· Treats! I want some! ·≥

I give my thanks to Hirotomo; He smiles back and then proceeded to welcome and take care of the people that have been announced by the sweet bell.

Shy looked rather excited to have her treats, yet she kept calm on my lap. I smile, and open the back of snacks, and give her two pieces from it.

She surely looks happy to eat them, and I'm glad she is.

It looks as if she's trying to not get dirty by eating it carefully, so I let a giggle out of my mouth.

Then I get my eyes back to the tray, so I take the decorated coffee mug, and give it a sip, getting a cream moustache, yet enjoying the great taste of it.

So, I hear a chuckle beside me, and I see Hirotomo approaching my table "Looks like you like it a lot, I'm glad" as he sets his -already- usual smile.

"Ah, is it that obvious?" I cover my mouth with my free hand, putting it in front of it, so I can lick the cream off my upper lip.

"Yeah, looks like your eyes are shining stars" He laughs, and I can see a slight red-ish tone appear, and I felt my face heat growing a bit.

I let out a «Mhm» and kept drinking my coffee, as he asks to sit on the other seat.

"So, it's strange Shy is the first one to approach a customer, usually it's the opposite" Shy meows back as if she was answering "Don't be like that Shy! I know you love me"

≤· No. You're loud! Be quieter, Hirotomo! ·≥

As she meowed again I laugh, since she looked a bit pissed, moving her tail like that.

"Aw, Shy~ Don't be mad! I'll treat you again later, alright?" As Hirotomo said that she calmed down, so I giggled while taking a sip. "Well, have you tried the cake, senpai?"

"Uh, not yet, let me give it a try" He nods, and I grab the fork I was given, and take a piece of the raspberry cake, just to lose it and fall in love with it.

He laughs "You look dazzled"

"I am, this is great," I say, as I kind of hurry to get another piece of it "Who made it?"

"Oh, I did" He smiles brightly "I take care of the bake parts".

" You're amazing" I ramble, as I enjoy another piece more as if it was the first and last time I'd have it.

"Arata-Kun! Can you take our order?" I hear coming from the other table.

"Sure!" Hirotomo gets up, already taking the notebook out of his apron pocket again.

"His name is Arata, eh?" I got lost looking the way he went, but I come back to reality as Shy pats my stomach "Oh, sorry, here, have more cutie" I say, as I give her more treats.

In the end, I ended up having my coffee and eating my cake while reading a book I got last week.

Shy also looked like she enjoyed all the treats I gave her since now she lies sleeping comfortably on my legs.

In the tray lies the now empty coffee mug and the plate with the fork, with no visible traces that a cake lied there in the first place.

The other cats were still playing and hanging around, since, as the hour passed, more people arrived, but even while slightly crowded, the cafeteria was still peaceful, allowing me to read comfortably.

This book is, if anything, interesting.

It premiered at the beginning to be centred on an action-mystery storyline, yet developed in a fiction-romance by half-read. I still have the other half, but I won't complain about the romance. It's quite usual to see romance coming from this composition, but the interesting twist to it, it's that it's a homosexual pairing, and you don't see that every day.

"Hey, how's the book going?" I heard Hirotomo beside me, so I looked up to my side, but to my surprise, he was rather close.

"Ah, it's good. I like it" I smiled, and went back to it.

"Oh? Can I have the name of it?" I nodded and showed him the title of the front cover, and he noted it in his notebook. "Thank you, I'll read it later~"

"Alright, it is interesting, hopefully, you'll like it" I hear him chuckle beside me, and he wanders off-topic.

"Looks like it. You've been there for two hours now" Wait-

"Two hours?"

"Uh, yeah" He laughed a bit "You came by six, it's already past eight" I looked at the clock on my wrist and, indeed, two hours have passed, and it was already dark outside, so I panicked a bit.

I sighed, "Can I have the bill please?" I smiled at him, although he was still rather close -not quite as before, but still close-.

"Yeah, sure" He went towards the display section, so I carefully left Shy on a near couch, without waking her up, and I followed Hirotomo after picking my stuff up.

"It'd be one thousand and thirty yen" I got my wallet and gave him a thousand and five hundred.

"Keep the rest, it was fun with you hanging around" I smiled and proceeded to leave.

"Hope to see you again, Takafumi-San" He gave me the last smile for me today, and I left, happy, yet kinda in a hurry, as the bell rang and Hirotomo's voice and the other two from today said, «Thank you for coming!»

"Ugh, I don't even know when does the last train go off" I started while walking fast to the station.

«One second»

"He knows my name?!" I say, out loud, in the middle of the street, and I feel some stares back in my neck.

I give myself a small facepalm and continue rushing to the station.

Yet.

«Where do I know him from?!»

I don't remember him from anywhere. Not his face, not his name, nothing. Zero.

"Ugh, I can worry about that later, now I need to get home, at least".

And so, I kept my fast walking to the train station, praying for the trains to still be going to the station I need to.
