Chapter 4 - CHAPTER F O U R

Rory woke up from her nap when she noticed that she was home again. Was it all just a dream? she thought.

"Oh, Rory good afternoon princess" Mary cried out.

"Hello, Mary" Rory smiled. But why was Mary so stressed today?

"Rory, do you remember anything from earlier today?" Emma popped out of nowhere.

"Emma!!" Rory jumped out of her bed and hugged Emma.

"Rory, are you hurt?" Mary tried to see if she had any scars on her.

"No why would I have that?" Rory tilted her head, not thinking more about her 'dream'.

"Nothing baby just rest okay?" Mary was spoiling Rory so much today!

Rory and Emma played for quite a while before it was time to eat dinner. They ate Rory's favorite dish while Rory told everyone about her crazy dream. Everyone was just happy that she was back again. They thought that they had lost her or something similar since they couldn't find her anywhere.

Soon after dinner Emma and Rory continued to play together before it was nap time for Rory. Mary was still in shock about what had happened earlier that she slept in the same room as Rory for the night. She promised lady Victoria to look after Rory and after what had happened she remembered her promise which made her break down. How could she be so stupid and let the four-year-old child wander alone in the forest?

After everyone in the house fell asleep and the clock stroked past midnight. A person couldn't sleep no matter what he did. He tried lavender tea, Kamille tea everything. Yet he couldn't sleep. He was already attached to the little human but he denied it.

He wanted to see Rory once again, just to see the little human that looked like his past wife one more time then he could fall asleep safely. But he knew that Rory was just like a drug, the more he saw her the more attached he got to her.

He continued to beg lady Victoria to end his suffering, it was after all her own mess that she left behind. He would do anything to go back in time to prevent her from getting pregnant. Every time he thought of that he got angrier and angrier towards the little princess that didn't do anything to him.

"Please take the girl from me and come back, please I beg you" Valdemar cried out without any tears. He couldn't sleep because he thought about his princess. She did nothing wrong yet he hated the idea of her. It was her fault that Victoria died he thought to himself.

Even though he hated the princess, he couldn't stop himself from wanting to see her. Yes sure he rejected her, but she was the last thing that resembled his dead wife. He was beginning to let go of his wife, and find another woman to marry, but she just had to come and interrupt him.

He was on his way to meet the Queen of Herishia, but he stumbled across the little princess and was instantly reminded of his dead wife. "Are you trying to stop me from marrying another woman after you? You still surprise me even though you're dead" the king laughed out loud. The only person that could make him laugh that way was lady Victoria. And even though she was 6 feet under she still made him smile.

"I'm not going to marry another woman alright? just please stop torturing me" the king broke down once again. Even to this day he suffered. If he knew that he would fall so deeply in love with her he would have listened to his father. His father was against their relationship mainly because Victoria wasn't of royal blood. She was just an outsider whom the king fell in love with.

But who could reject Victoria? She was quite a beauty. She didn't have any imperfections. And the thing Valdemar loved the most was her adventurous personality. She would risk her life to do something for fun. Her bold personality was what attracted him. Everyone obeyed the prince because he was known to be cruel, but Victoria? she wasn't scared she even made fun of him and called him Prince charming just like the fairy tale.

And when she entered the castle everyone fell in love with her beauty and personality. She would help around the kitchen and help around the garden. The maids loved her because whenever they did something wrong, lady Victoria would take the blame just so they wouldn't get punished.

She would sneak around in the middle of the night dancing with the moon, near the lake. That was her place she would feel safe and dance like nobody was watching. One night Valdemar followed her to see where she went when he discovered her dancing beautifully without any worries.

He continued to follow her each night just to see her dance again. He would wake up the next day and act as if he didn't see her dance because he knew that she only danced like that when nobody was watching.

The more he spent time with her the more he wanted to make her his. And when she one night was dancing so lovely the prince thought it would be best if he proposed right there. He waited for her to finish her dancing and when she stopped he popped out behind the tree and walked towards her with tears in his eyes.

"Tory you look so lovely when you dance" The prince smiled. He continued to praise her and got on one knee and pulled the ring out of his pocket.

"You're the only person I could dream of marrying, you're sweet, bold, and stunning, would you mind giving your hand to me?" the prince looked up.

Victoria was shocked. She didn't know he was watching her dance, and to think that he proposed near the lake was perfect. She also broke down in tears hugging him and telling him yes a million times. They spend the whole night near the lake talking about their future.
