Claire was also surprised. When quickly ran to her daughter's side, Old Gary was already there to help Emma get up. Emma's beautiful little face is now covered with fine sand. Fortunately, when she was about to fall, she cleverly closed her eyes.
"Mummy... There's so much sand on my face!" Emma pouted and then started crying her heart out.
Claire immediately took a tissue from her bag to wipe Emma's face.
Old Gary who stood beside Emma was so scared that his face has turned white. "Miss Claire, quickly bring the little miss to wash her face."
Dempsey, who also ran over, squatted down at the side. Looking at his daughter's crying face, he felt his heart ache. Just as he wanted to help brush the sand from Emma's face, his hand was slapped and swatted away by Claire. Dempsey immediately glared at her coldly.
Claire ignored him and and hurriedly carried her daughter to follow Old Gary to the villa. As they were walking, she carefully instructed her daughter, "Little Emma, you can't open your eyes yet. If you open them and the sand gets inside your eyes, it will be very painful."
"En. Mummy, where is Daddy?"
When Emma mentioned "Daddy", Claire saw the man heading their direction with quick steps.
"Emma, Daddy is here. Don't be afraid. Once we arrive at the house, we will wash your face." Dempsey replied in a low voice.
"Daddy, please don't abandon Emma and Frank... and Mummy, okay?" In Emma's pure heart, what she desired the most is for her father and mother to be together. Now, her little wish is finally coming true.
Dempsey was startled. He glanced at Claire, and when Claire ignored him, his eyes turned gloomy.
"Fine, I promise. I promise that I will never part with you again. I will take good care of you in the future." Dempsey looked at the sand on his daughter's face, and he suddenly felt that he will not be a good father as he has no sense of danger.
Arriving at the villa, Old Gary led Claire to a washroom. Claire washed her daughter's face clean with water. However, even though she had washed Emma's face clean, a few small scrapes appeared on her face. Good thing that there were no open wounds or bleeding.
On the other side, Old Gary who almost had a mini heart attack, kept apologizing, "Young Master, I deserve to die. I did not take good care of the little miss. Please punish me. I will never let anything happen like this again."
Although Dempsey felt sorry for his daughter, he knew that everything was an accident. Furthermore, Old Gary has taken care of him all these years, and thought of him as a relative, "Old Gray, don't say that. You're not at fault, I'm not blaming you. Let's just be more careful next time."
Claire walked out of the washroom, carrying her daughter.
Dempsey stepped forward when he saw them, and when he noticed the scrapes on his daughter's beautiful face, he immediately stated to blame himself.
"Mummy, Daddy is so handsome." Emma shyly whispered to her mother's ears. A little girl like her already knows the difference between beautiful and ugly.
Claire exclaimed in surprise, "What handsome? He's not even half as handsome as your brother!" Claire has been looking at her little children's faces since they were little, and although Dempsey's looks can topple a nation, she's already immune to it.
What's the use of being handsome? Even if she admitted that he really is handsome, will he give up his rights for the custody of her children?
How could he ever like this woman's words? Dempsey thought. Facts have proven that he is a rare find. But this woman didn't even look at him. Could she be blind?
"Big brother is a little handsome brother, and Daddy is a great handsome Daddy."
"Emma, call your big brother. Let's go home. Grandaunt cooked your favorite food."
Dempsey did not wait for his daughter to respond. He immediately instructed Old Gary who stood not far away from them, "Old Gary, let's celebrate tonight! Go prepare the most delicious and sumptuous dinner possible. "
Claire glared at him in shock and fury. Is this man trying to go against her words on purpose?
