--- Gremory Point of View ---
The big platform where the training was taking place was simply destroyed, leaving only Gremory behind, but without the ground, he was now falling towards death.
'Shit, this would be a good time to summon my shield, but I don't have any mana left after the last attack.'
Unlike the spell created for fireball, adapting it to the shadow element did not involve a way to partition mana, thus using all of Gremory's mana in a single extremely powerful attack.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHAHHAHHHHH" Gremory shouted as he fell to the ground.
With nothing to save him, Gremory simply crashed to the ground and died like the rest of the group, leaving everyone around speechless.
Except for Vendryt.
"Hmpft.. This kid just gives me trouble." He spoke while activating the arena rune.
The destroyed arena simply started to return to its place, everyone was again standing where they started.
Xander falls to the floor in awe at the shock and fear of death that was on his mind a minute ago while the others are confused without knowing what happened.
"What? I thought the rune had been destroyed." I speak to Vendryt while he approached us after lowering the bridge.
"Do you think that a secret as big as the power of this rune would be left exposed in the open like that, besides, and if one of you fell? I lied to you all, for you to take the training seriously, the rune in the arena is just a decoration, the real Tier 10 rune is at the bottom of the arena and this platform was built on top of it. " Vendryt replied sarcastically breaking the atmosphere of tension in the environment.
Even Gremory was deceived, which left him stunned at the same time as the others.
"This is just incredible, all this power can simply define what is real and what is not."
Gremory was still far from the level of the understanding necessary to use so many mechanisms at once, but after going through the process he began to understand that the rune itself was not capable of bringing people to life.
'All objects, whether alive or not, are made of matter, this rune makes a backup of the organization of these atoms and then rearranges them to their positions at the time of the backup. Undoing all the damage done, the level of detail in something as big as that should just be majestic.'
"Now Xander and Gremory, you two are suspended until the end of the day!" Vendryt spoke while he pointed to the exit of the arena. "As for the rest of you, start again."
"What, no, why? Gremory was the one who destroyed everything, I didn't anything wrong" Xander complained like an impatient child.
"Are you wanting me to extend your suspension?" Vendryt told Xander who promptly bowed a little apologetically.
"Can I extend mine? Because if he doesn't want it, I want it." Gremory replied sarcastically, making small sparks start to light around Vendryt, causing the two of them to quickly leave the arena to the side where they sat on the cold floor watching the rest of the training.
Xander was very irritated for being left out, but Gremory couldn't be happier, after all, he carried his book everywhere, even now he had brought it with him and left it outside the arena when he was asked to enter.
Xander seeing this animation got extremely irritated.
"Why do you always carry this book? You should focus on what matters and that is becoming strong." He said.
Gremory, who was calmly leafing through the book, replied. "You know... Knowledge can be a great weapon if you know how to use it."
Despite saying this with a certain tone of superiority, in the next second his stomach turned and started to make a noise, breaking the whole atmosphere of superiority.
'Damn, I haven't eaten for a while and that spell exhausted me. Also, I need to name it, I think I'm going to call him Abyss Void. Although this spell drains all of my reserves, it may be necessary in case of an emergency.'
"Here, eat this." Xander spoke while he gave an apple that was stored in his backpack to Gremory.
"Huh, thanks but I don't want to."
"You know, it doesn't hurt to accept help from time to time as well."
'If you offer your neck I would happily cut it off, but an apple is not quite what I need right now.'
"It is not that, it is just that I was surprised that you are offering me this, it may be poisoned after all haha." Gremory responded by making a joke about it.
"We may have our differences, but I would never do that to an ally." Xander got serious with the accusation and started to eat the apple to prove that there was nothing wrong.
"You seriously need some sense of humor."
Xander didn't answer and just watched the arena.
Usually, that cold environment would be too bad to concentrate on, but for Gremory this was not a problem despite his low mana. His shell used very little mana in situations like this, making his mana spend practically irrelevant. Then Gremory took advantage of that silence to continue his reading until the end of the day.
A little while later the crowd above the castle gradually dispersed, Yuno also was impressive like expected, with his green flame just like the rest of his family, followed by her was Kiel with his blue flame. Mary took a while to be able to cast the fireball and her flame was red and yellow, being the common color of a fire mage. As for the biggest disappointment of the day, Luther was not even able to cast a fireball.
