Chris could feel the stinging sensation continue on his body, spreading from his arms to his legs. He had started to feel it after an intense feeling of sadness washed over him when he got home. His soulmate was definitely not in a stable mindset at the moment.
He grabs his phone and walks out of his room straight to Felix's, a feeling of dread in him. He softly knocks on the door before pushing it open to reveal a bored looking Felix staring at the ceiling.
"Hey do you have a minute?" Chris asked with hesitation, he didn't want to disturb his brother in whatever he was doing.
The younger smiled softly and patted the spot next to him, Chris didn't hesitate to lay next to the other.
"What's the matter?"
Chris thought for a minute, "Well, my soulmate is at it again."
Felix immediately sat up and looked at the brunette, "How bad is it this time?"
"It's still going on as we speak and its the longest it's ever gone on," the elder said with a heavy sigh and his eyes welling up with tears. As much as the physical feeling hurt, what hurts him the most is that his soulmate was in pain.
"We really need to find out who your soulmate is," Felix said with a stern look. He quickly grabbed his laptop off his nightstand and typed in a website.
"What are you doing mate?" Chris asked with a thick, aussie accent.
"This website will hopefully help you find your other half," He turned the screen to his brother and showed him.
Chris scanned the page, "How does this even work?"
Chris had the right to be skeptical. He's heard the horror stories of people meeting their supposed 'soulmates' through websites like these and end up being hurt or even worse, killled.
"How do you think I found out James was my soulmate?"
He did have a point, Chris admitted to himself. Reluctantly, the brunette pulls the laptop onto his lap and signs up for the website.
Chris lied awake in his room not knowing what time it was. His abdomen ached and his arms burned. He's never felt this type of pain before and he was certain that it was coming from his soulmate.
Tears pricked his eyes as he felt the hopelessness set in. He wanted to help them so bad and make sure they were never hurt again, but he didn't know who they were.
A loud ding came from Chris's phone, the screen lighting up to see a notification reading 'New Match!'
Chris opened his phone and went onto the app that Felix made him download after their talk. A message was waiting from a 'S.K' saying, "hi there..."
A feeling of excitement sat within him but it soon morphed into anxiousness. The combination of his and hi soulmate's emotions.
He typed out a quick hello and waited patiently. He felt slightly uncomfortable with messaging a random person but he pushed that aside.
They messaged back and forth for a couple of hours, just learning about one another. Chris learned that the person was a girl and she lived in in the same area as him. She goes by SK and told him that she doesn't feel comfortable showing her face just yet.
Chris got a wave of boldness and asked her if he could call her and she hesitantly agreed.
His nervousness spiked when he hovered over the call button in the app. With a sigh he pressed it and put it on speaker. A few seconds later she picked up and Chris almost chickened out.
"Um, hello," he said rather nervously.
"Hi Chris," SK said with a soft melodic voice that made Chris's cheeks flare up.
"H-how are you?"
"I'm-" there was a slight pause and Chris felt like a feathery touch on his forearm, "I'm fine I guess."
He could hear the lie in her voice but he didn't want to press it and make her uncomfortable.
"Well that's good," he started with a small smile on his face, "I was worried you would be upset or something."
"Why would I be?"
"Well you are my soulmate and I thought you'd be upset once you saw me or something," he said scratching the back of his neck. He would be lying if he said he wasn't scared that his soulmate wouldn't find him attractive enough.
"You're really nice and handsome Chris and honestly I'm really lucky to have such a cute soulmate," SK said with a giggle.
"Well thank you, I can already tell you're cute ya know?"
"How so?"
"Your little giggle has to be as beautiful as you are," the brunette says with the spike of confidence he was feeling, "it's just fact."
"But you haven't even seen me yet?"
"Yet? So I will someday?"
"Someday."
A small chuckle was heard from Chris followed by a peaceful silence between the two. Neither of them knew what to say so they just listened to each others breathing. Chris felt a light touch on his cheek and smiled softly to himself.
"I can feel that ya know?" he said lightly, the smile could be heard through his words.
"I know," SK replied shyly, "It was on purpose."
The brunette decided to return the touch by rubbing small circles on his own hand with his thumb.
"That's really comforting," SK says, "I really need that."
"Well that's what I'm hear for."
