Ultas and Voron spoke to each other before checking on the mining progress.
"How do we know the stone is even here? How can we be certain Ultas?"
"Those damned Scholars left most of their work here after we drove them out. We studied the text and peered over the findings. The stone is here. Can't you feel it?"
The two men both took in deep breaths as if trying to fall into sleep. They could feel with each stroke from the miners beneath them, more and more of the Beacon Stone's radiating power.
"Men! Keep digging, we'll never find the Beacon Stone if we slack off!" Ultas yelled to the men mining underneath Silverstone. They did not care how they got the Stone, but they would have it. Ultas went to Voron and discussed their next plan of action.
"We're going to have to invade the Eastern side of the continent. We have to destroy their ability to release Peace magic."
"Voron, they won't be able to, because we'll kill them at the Grand Continental Gate. Here and now we declare war on the East!"
They traveled to Lionsgate to employ some assassians to help them. They reached the city and entered without worry, going to the Temple of Darkstar. They ordered the finest assassians in the temple. They were Agripian, Sorrian, and Cansoulian.
"What's the pay gentleman? We're not taking any less than five thousand gold per contract or event, each."
"We'll double it if you want. Doesn't matter, we just need you to carry out every order without question or hesitation."
Sorrian was not going to just let them speak that way to them, quickly slicing through Voron's ankle, causing him to fall. Voron quickly jumped up and pinned Sorrian by the head.
"Calm down Voron. If anything it shows that these are indeed the best. Now, if you would be so kind to put our employee down."
Agripian brandished his dagger to Ultas' throat.
"You will do well to know that if any harm comes to either of these women on behalf of either of you, I'll gut you faster than when Daytona fell out of the sky."
The five of them agreed and they waited in Lionsgate for the heroes of the east to show up.
Paul, Dante, and Solomon arrived in Helorion. They went door to door to find Samuel before they ran into him in the street. The three scholars explained what was going on. Samuel didn't understand any of what they said, but it didn't matter, he was going regardless.
They set off towards Swordseat to get Jessica and Zeno. They were far less willing to go with them than Samuel was, but they still agreed. They would make their final stop in Castillia to get Mark and Rachel, who were quite eager to do some good. They set off towards Lionsgate, unaware of the trap waiting for them.
