Chapter 20 - The Battle at Eagle's Pass

Aace was at Sillsing when he got the report that the plan was set and Hannibal was on the march towards Sillsing. "He's not going to make it to Sillsing," Aace thought as he read the report. The report also detailed that Hannibal was coming in full force.

He gathered the Knight's Company to the war room in Sillsing Keep's to devise a plan for the battle. Sir Christopher asked, "Can I take the dragon?" to which Aace responded, yes with a confused look on his face. The plan was simple. Shield wall in Eagle's Pass. The battle would break out and then the calvary would charge through at Sir Simon's signal. The Company went quickly to their stations- they where gonna take Hannibal's army down, if not Hannibal himself.

Aace led the shield legions towards Hannibal's incoming army. They clashed in the evening hours in the middle of Eagle's Pass. Hannibal flew in, burning what he could of Aace's army. Sir Christopher then threw one of his Claymores into Daytona's eye, killing the dragon and causing her and Hannibal to crash in the back portion of Hannibal's army. Aace and the Company quickly fought through Hannibal's men, determined to kill Hannibal.

"Stop and face me you coward!" Aace yelled.

"So you want to go, one on one, eh? You'll die where you stand, and maybe you'll get to see that lovely wife and adorable son of your's again."

Aace charged Hannibal with righteous indignation, crashing down on him with the furry of a thousand hurricanes. They both danced around each other, trading blows, dodging some, and parrying others. Then Hannibal sheathed his blade when he had distance between himself and Aace. "Fight me like a man, no weapons or armor or magic," Hannibal offered.

Aace arrogantly agreed, sheathing his blade and taking off his armor just as Hannibal did.

"Let's fight," Aace shouted.

They began to trade blows, each of them striking with speed and power. But Hannibal was the better fighter, grabbing one of Aace's punches, he threw Aace to the ground, slamming him hard on the rocks. Struggling to get up, Aace tried to defend himself as Hannibal came over him. Hannibal kept striking, each blow feeling like a hammer slamming into Aace's face. Sir Daniel the Courageous then tackled Hannibal, giving him the same treatment Hannibal gave Aace. Quickly throwing Sir Daniel off and realizing he lost, Hannibal fled back to Draconia. The Knight's Company then rescued a nearly dead Aace and took him back to Sillsing so he can recuperate. The knights would later return and lay plans for the Seige of Draconia.
